Morning Coffee: Brotherly love

There was at least one Georgia player who definitely wanted to keep defending national champion Alabama on the schedule this year.

"Hopefully, we end up playing them anyways," guard Dallas Lee says with a smile.

Lee's younger brother Dillon Lee is a freshman linebacker this season at Alabama. Dillon enrolled early this past spring with the Crimson Tide and is now in Tuscaloosa, while Dallas is working as a starting offensive lineman in Athens.

"He's doing real good," Dallas Lee said. "It's hard to talk to him. We've both been in camp the last couple of weeks. I've got to talk to him a couple of nights, but he's doing really good. They've got him working with a couple of diferent positions, I'm pretty sure. ... I know he's got a lot to learn. Their defense is pretty intricate. Coach Smart knows a lot of things. It's just pressure on him to learn as much as he can at as many positions as he can so he can get on the field. I think he's doing a good job of it."

Georgia's team has had quite a few brother tandems pass through the Bulldogs' program during Mark Richt's tenure.

Was Dallas surprised that Dillon didn't choose UGA?

"I wanted him to," Dallas Lee said. "Clearly, I mean, it's your brother. We tried to leave the pressure off of him, let him make the decision that he wanted to do. He chose Alabama, and I'm happy for him. It's where he wanted to be."

A trip to Alabama was on Georgia's original 2012 schedule, but the SEC's expansion resulted in the Crimson Tide dropping off the schedule this year.

Nevertheless, the two Lee brothers still talk frequently about the possibility of a meeting this season.

"We like to joke about it," Dallas Lee said. "He's a very cocky guy. We've been competitive our whole lives. He's always been a little more athletic, and I've always been bigger than him. I mean, everything we do has been a competition. Now playing SEC football, it's already inherent competition plus your brother.

"It would be a lot of fun if we do get to play them."
