Film Study: Buffalo (Second Half)

I'm starting to think that CTG had a vanilla game plan with Buffalo so Mizzou wouldn't have a whole lot to go off of.

I'm still puzzled by the WR pass to Keith Marshall in the first half. We kept it vanilla on offense. So that call was out of character for what we were doing. My guess is that we want Mizzou to know that we have an antidote if they cheat their safeties up to take away our quick throws. But who knows? Maybe Richt had a flashback to his FSU days? On another note, I officially have a man-crush on John Theus. There aren't may o-lines where he would not be a starter right now.

What was your overall assessmen of Merrit Hall? Did you see anything in particular about him versus the other fullbacks that explained his rise from obscurity to the starter. He certainly seems to enjoy contact and doesnt shy away from it. I thought he was going to take a guys head off when he fielded a short kickoff in the second half.

Thats a wrinkle to keep Mizzou guessing. Look for UGA to run the play with smith next week without passing it ( USC game his freshmen year ). That was something to keep those guys on their feet. like throwing a weak jab right before lowering the big boom. CTG turned up the heat when he needed to. But we weren't prepared for a scrambling QB because i don't think GA thought of him as a Scrambler. That will be a different story next week. Franklin won't be able to trick us on that note. We know he can run.
