Georgia secured a big piece to its 2014 signing class Saturday when defensive lineman Lamont Gaillard of Fayetteville, N.C., decided to formally join it.
As expected, the 6-foot-3, 310-pound Gaillard verbally committed during a visit to Athens with his family, Dawgs247 has confirmed.
He is rated a five-star prospect, the No. 1 player in North Carolina and nation's 19th-best overall and third-best defensive tackle recruit, according to 247Sports' rankings.
Gaillard becomes the 16th commitment to a signing class that is being rated among the nation's best already. He chose UGA over a host of offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Miami, South Carolina, Tennessee and many more.
