Houston sidelined by NCAA issue

ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia reserve offensive lineman Kolton Houston is being sidelined right now while ineligible because of an "NCAA issue," head coach Mark Richt confirmed after Wednesday's practice.

"Kolton right now is not eligible to play," Richt said. "We hope he'll be eligible soon."

Houston, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound redshirt freshman from Buford, Ga., has not played this season and not dressed for games.

Richt said the issue came up during the summer and is ongoing but declined to discuss additional details.

"Just an NCAA issue is all I can say," Richt said. "It's an individual case that we're not going to get into details about. But it's NCAA-related. We think it's going to get cleared up. We just don't know when."

The strain of the ordeal appears to be wearing on Houston. A tweet on his account Tuesday night read, "Feeling alot of different emotions right now... I don't know how much longer I can do this."
