I see a lot of words with little substance behind them. Money talks bullshit walks.

What I want to see is a dollar for dollar comparison on what we spend on strength and conditioning and what Bama and LSU spends. At one time I heard they had like 10 full time guys on the strength staff. Thats a pretty big difference even since we added 2 guys. And how many "recruiting assistants" does Bama have? I know Bill Napier is one if I am not mistaken and I will bet my life he is doing more than just showing a family around or delivering tapes. Thats the kind of thing Bama knows they can get away with and the NCAA cant do squat.
I would like to get his thoughts on basketball and baseball and the level of committment there. Its obvious we dont care about baseball or Perno would be gone but I would like to hear his thoughts on basketball.

Sounds pretty clear that McGarity is very sharp and very sensible when it comes to running a program. He is a guy I would want running my company and a vast improvment over Evans. However, we are not competeing against sensible. Sensible and economically wise didnt just hold up the crystal ball. It was the freak show down in Bama where each school is trying to out do the other by throwing every dime that poor state has at football programs. And it has worked. Saban makes twice as much as Richt. Well even though he only has one SEC title at Bama he has 2 National Titles. Think that salary is sensible? Absolutely not its ridiculous unless you want to win it all every year.

According to a study last fall by The Business of College Sports (linked below), UGA Football ranked #2 in the country with net revenue of $52.5 MM, trailing only Texas. If you look at expenses however, we are in the bottom half of the SEC, with 18.3 MM. That trails Alabama (31.1), Auburn (27.9), LSU (25.5), Fla (24.5), S Car (22.8), and Ark (22). Out of our main rivals only Tenn spent less at 17.4 and I'm assuming that's b/c they had a brand new staff last year that was relatively inexpensive.

Maybe McGarity put a little more money into the program this past year but those are pretty big gaps.
