UGA cornerback commitment Shaq Wiggins got the public's attention with a tweet Thursday morning that read "it's decision time for me today."
Shaq Wiggins has been committed to UGA since last February.
What decision did he have to announce?
Having said previously that he might take his recruitment all the way until National Signing Day before announcing a final decision, Wiggins instead tweeted out later Thursday that there will be no more drama in his recruitment.
"For all reporters, I canceled the rest of my OV's (official visits)," Wiggins tweeted. "I've decided to stay committed to UGA and display my talents there.
The 5-foot-9 Wiggins, a UGA commit for nearly a year, had made Bulldogs fans nervous of late by keeping other schools in contention. Wiggins made official visits to Florida and South Carolina and had more scheduled for Ole Miss and Texas A&M.
"I think it’s going to be pretty difficult to beat Georgia out," Wiggins told 247Sports a week ago, "but I’m not saying it’s possible or not possible. Wherever I feel the most comfortable is where I’ll be.”
And Wiggins, as it turns out, has indicated he is planning to stick with the Bulldogs.
"I want to THANK all the coaches that recruited their ass off to try and get me to their school, and really appreciate you guys effort," Wiggins tweeted Thursday. "I love all my fans from Ole Miss, Florida, SOUTH CAROLINA, and Texas A&M."
Wiggins is rated by 247Sports as the No. 16 cornerback in the nation for 2013.
