*** Back in the saddle again ...

  • I'm now back in Athens and at the Butts-Mehre after a hectic couple of days back home in Birmingham. Things aren't exactly back to normal at home, but they do look much better on the family front. We're optimistic after some scary hours. So if all goes as we're hoping with my grandmother, I'll head back during the holiday and then return in time for the big game Saturday. Thanks again for the prayers and support on the board. You guys are the best, and it really did mean a lot to my mother when I showed her that thread yesterday.

As for your programming the rest of the week, things should continue as normal with the exception of a couple of things: With the holiday approaching, it does not look like I'll have the time required to come up with a film study from the Kentucky game as I was originally planning. I've also decided with late basketball games the next two nights and holiday obligations and travel to give myself a break from the Morning Coffees for the remainder of the week. I know that's a fan favorite, and I assure you I'll have them going again next week.

Otherwise, expect the same coverage to which you've been accustomed this season. We've had a really good run of growth lately, and I want to thank our current members for spreading the word and welcome all of our new members.

  • In the meantime, there was clearly some big UGA news last night, and like everyone else, I was saddened to hear of Larry Munson's passing. I had the opportunity to meet and interview Larry on several occasions. I will truly cherish those memories for the remainder of my career. There will never be another like him.

You can feel his loss at the Butts-Mehre today. Flags outside are at half-staff, and there is this touching portrait as you enter the front door ...
