Reading this contractual draft now ...

Grantham does have a buyout he would owe UGA to leave, but it's not very much and there are catches to it. The amount would be between about $40,000 and $80,000 if Grantham left this first year (depending on when he left) ... $40,000 if it is after Feb. 1, 2014 ... and basically nothing in the last year.

It's also important to note that Grantham would not owe UGA any "liquidated damages" (buyout) if the job he accepted within 60 days of leaving was ...

-- A head coaching job in the NFL or NCAA
-- A defensive coordinator job in the NFL

If UGA was to fire Grantham, it would basically owe a $400,000 buyout payment annually over the life of the contract.

I should also tell you guys that this contract has been made available to the media AT THE DRAFT STAGE, which means it has not yet been signed and finalized.
