ATHENS, Ga. -- Offensive lineman Austin Long underwent surgery Friday morning to repair a fractured right hand, according to UGA. It was the same hand Long broke prior to the Capital One Bowl. He hurt it again during Thursday's practice.
Long, a senior, had been practicing this spring as Georgia's first-string right guard. While the injury is not believed to be a long-term problem, it will keep Long out for the remainder of spring practice.
Kenarious Gates was practicing Friday at right guard in Long's place. Chris Burnette, the starter last season at right guard, is out for spring while recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.
