A tad surprised, but this was expected. I hope Perno takes time to eval the program and figure out ways to get us back to in the super regional/CWS picture. There's talent on the team no doubt.

How can it not even be a question? I really don't understand this. Jay Clark has two sub-par seasons and gets the boot, but Georgia's baseball team hasn't even been relevant since 2008 and it's "not even a question?"
Extremely disappointed by this. I'd like to know what happened to McGarity's "we expect our programs to be competitive" philosophy here.

My question is this. Does Perno not know that bunting is an integral part of baseball.??? Just wondering after watching those two games in Hoover.

When GM evaluates a program, he looks at the big picture and all the factors affecting the team, not just wins and losses. Has the team struggled since almost winning the CWS? Yes, but the team also went through some difficult circumstances with Chance and JT and then at the beginning this year we lost our ace closer. From what I have heard, there are some personal things going on in Perno's life as well that he has had to deal with and I think GM is giving him one more year.

Personal things are personal things. Every other team in America has to contend with injuries. There's always an excuse, but at the end of the day that's why these guys get paid the big bucks - to find ways to win. Perno hasn't been able to do that. I'm tired of being resigned to not being able to take any interest in UGA baseball every year because we have an injury that Perno just can't seem to overcome. It's ridiculous. And it's ridiculous that McGarity is insinuating that there was never any question about replacing Perno after this run of mediocrity. That puts serious doubt in my heart about whether McGarity is truly serious about expecting excellence or not.
