*** On Kessler ...

  • As reported in another post, Landmark Christian forward Houston Kessler posted on his Facebook page late tonight that he's "officially" headed to UGA to play basketball.

    So we have updated his status and added him as a commitment to the 2012 class.

    I've been scrambling since that Facebook post in attempts to get more from Houston and they've been unsuccessful tonight. So at this point, we're not able to say with certainty if he has agreed to walk on or will be a formal signee for UGA, which is believed to have only one scholarship available during this late signing period.

    When I know more about this situation, you guys will too.

    In any event, UGA's hoops program has added a nice player after some tough news Monday.

Since most of us work full time jobs, yet devote more hours than necessary to this recruiting chase, do us (me) a favor and keep it real. Know what you know and know what you are behind on. I don't give a you know what about downvotes so I can tell it like it is . . . if I showed up to my employer with 5 week old information, then we wouldn't be having this conversation.

  • Wow.... Have you thought about staying on those other sites? Gentry has been solid on his info ever since I have been here. Never know him to try and pass along bad info. Pretty sure he won't confirm it until he gets it straight from the commit.

  • By scrambling I meant it's not always easy to get someone on the phone that late on a school night.

    I'll freely admit when I'm behind. This is a competitive business and it happens, but I'm pretty sure no one was reporting Kessler's commit until he posted it late last night.

  • G, you guys do such an awesome job. Most people dont have a clue what all goes into your job. I know you and Rusty work your tails off.
    You compete daily for info on these players. You are way ahead of your competition most of the time..............by far. Thank you for what you guys do.
