*** On Murray's Tallahassee trip (and photo)

OK, I honestly wasn't going to bring this up, but since it is starting to get quite a bit of attention today, here goes ...
As we told you last week, Aaron Murray made the trip to Tallahassee during the bye weekend for the FSU-Maryland game (Arty Lynch and Marlon Brown were with him, FWIW), and the result was a photo (linked below) making the rounds.
Murray was asked about it Tuesday ...
About the FSU shirt?
"It's an FSU shirt, so it's all good. As long as I wasn't wearing a Florida shirt. My friends were like, 'Here, wear this.' I was like, 'All right. It's not a Florida shirt, so I'll wear an FSU shirt just to fit in a little bit."
About the shirtless guy and the ring?
"It was just someone I met. He went to Georgia Tech. I was like, 'I don't want to take a picture with you,' and he kept insisting, and I was like, 'All right, fine.' ... He was part of the team that won the ACC two years ago."
Did he do the Tomahawk chop?
"A couple of times. I don't want to say too much. I don't want to get in too much trouble."
And about the picture holding a can of something?
"That probably wasn't the smartest thing to do in the world. That was not one of the smarter moves. At least I wasn't being stupid, so that's a good thing."

gurantee you that you wont see any of Alabama's quarterbacks with FSU shirts on holding a Natural Light on their bye wk. Glad our quarterback likes to throw down in public and even more stupidly pose for a pic with a beer. Just poor leadership IMO.

Rediculous!!! Aaron Murray is a grown man and I don't see any problem with him going out and having some fun. Murray is the last guy I worry about doing something wrong. At least he is not in Millidgeville GA, raping some girl in the bathroom, or getting into a bar fight. Plus it was Naturday. Now if it comes out tomorrow that he got a DUI than there is a problem.

Non issue in my opinion. Just a college kid doing college kid things. Not nearly as bad as Stafford and Cox man hugging at Talladega with an empty kegger beside them. It sucks these guys every move is documented with a camera, phone, flip video, twitter pic, facebook, etc. I guarantee almost every QB that's played in Athens has had a few beers while in school, only these days everything is captured by someone. Murray, along with Boykin, is probably one of the players I'm least worried about doing something stupid.
As for the Tech fan, typical North Av nerd. Put on a shirt and lay off the creatine.

Your not "just a normal college kid" when you are the quaterback at UGA people. Your held to a higher standard. Athletes know that! Not sayin it should be football 24/7, but use better judgement. Call me old school, but I dont think there is anything cool about wearing another college teams shirt that we recruit against year around either.

well said.. this is a non issue and only a few fans will have a problem with this. has anyone watched fever pitch? there is a scene after a red sox lost where these 4 red sox fans are in pain at restaurant bar after their team lost a game. they saw some red sox's players out eating dinner and the fans were irate "how could they eat after losing that game? why aren't they in the pain we are?" smh sometimes at fans and their opinion of what they want players to do. these players had some free time off and had some fun tailgating before going to a game. no biggie and not an issue.

Heaven forbid a college kid, who happens to play football, go out and experience what it's like to be a fan for a day. I'm sure he missed it with all the "love" he gets from alumni when he makes a mistake.
He's a kid. He was responsible, which is all you can ask kids to be.
Beer is a gateway drug for football players, though. I just hope it doesn't escalate to the point where he wants to have sex with pretty girls. Then we'll know we've lost the leader of the team for sure!

Now if you were to have questioned his choice of beer, you might have been on to something.

Except he was going to the game to support one of his high school teammates. Give hime a break. Showing support for a high school pal. And he is 21, he is allowed to drink beer even if it is crappy beer. At least he was not driving, THAT is leadership. You can enjoy weekends off and do things the right way without getting in trouble. If the worst thing to come out of a bye week is our Qb having a beer with
an FSU shirt, i can handle that. Previous years we were worring about DUI, driving on suspended license and hit and run.
