Pretty quiet in the Hilton lobby right about now, except Billy Donovan just walked past my table. The coaches are going to break and meet with the ADs to go over everything in a big meeting. Word is that will break around 2 p.m. Central or so.

Kind of unpredictable who will talk and when after the meetings get out, but we'll have something, I'm sure ...

Football coaches have now broken their meeting and headed upstairs to sit down with the ADs. On stake-out duty and should get something from the football meetings within the hour, I hope.

-- The big question appears to be schedule format and the 6-1-1 idea with a permanent rival. There was not a consensus among coaches on that one, so there is a bit of a question mark there.

These seemed to be the main issues among football.

Spoke with McGarity and Tennessee AD Dave Hart, neither of whom were willing to say for sure that permanent opponents will happen, though both were hopeful.

"I anticipate that by the time we see you Friday afternoon, we'll have a format," Slive said.

A nine-game SEC football schedule was discussed today

"Whether or not it has any serious traction is another question," Slive said.

Asked about the idea of Georgia-Auburn and Bama-UT being only fixed games and everyone rotates ...

"We have looked at that. There's some real complexities to that. It's a nice solution if it's available."

The women's basketball schedule format would be different (16 games) than the men's basketball (18 games), Slive says

Richt did say that the 6-1-1 format would mean that the final game would rotate every year. There would not be a home and home before that last team rotates on and off the schedule.
