Richt goatee update:
It's still there.
Injury report ...
Damian Swann has a cervical sprain and is being limited in practice
Dexter Morant has a right shoulder sprain and is out
James DeLoach has a hamstring strain and is being limited in practice
Marc Deas (hamstring), Ray Drew (concussion), Hugh Williams (hand surgery) and C.J. Wyatt (illness) are still out
Richt on kickers this morning ...
"I thought that our XP/FGs were not what they need to be yet. (Jamie) Lindley was striking some as well. When they hit it really good, it looks great. But there was a little inconsistency there, not as deadly accurate as you'd want.
"(Marshall Morgan) still probably hit 75 percent of his kicks, which isn't bad. But in a drill like that, you always want to hit them all. I think Lindley might have missed one."
Richt says Collin Barber had "outstanding hang-time" on punts -- "I think he's understanding that part of it."
As for kickoffs, "Lindley and Marshall did a pretty good job, high into the end zone, good hang time."
Richt says the following have returned kicks so far (no significance to order)...
No real separation yet at kicker and punter, Richt says.
It's a battle at kicker between Morgan and Lindley, both are "very capable," Richt says.
At punter, Richt says Barber is ahead with Adam Erickson behind him
"I think all four of those guys can do it," Richt said.
Richt says Adam Erickson has been working as holder on kicks.
Richt told about Jarvis Jones' comment about being on a mission to get John Theus ready ...
"I think he's on a mission to get everybody ready," Richt replied.
As for Theus, Richt stops short of saying Theus is going to be named a starter. ,but ...
"I don't think there's any doubt he's going to play, and I think he knows that. ... He'll be game ready."
Richt says of Josh Harvey-Clemons ...
"He's made some nice picks. I can think of four interceptions he's had since he's been here."
Richt sounds pretty fired up about how team looks right now, to be honest ...
"We're going to continue to get better if we keep practicing like we're practicing."
Richt reiterates that he hasn't given up on possibility of Kolton Houston being able to play this season, but there obviously isn't a timeline for anything.
