*** Update on Branden Smith arrest story ...

  • An officer with the Henry County Sheriff's office in Alabama -- amid lots of phone calls and the fact he was "getting ready for court" -- just told me that the two individuals arrested for marijuana possession last night have bonded out of jail.

    Asked for more details on the arrest, he said he lacked details but referred me to the story that has already been linked on Branden Smith's reported arrest.

    If the weed is Woods and he admits it then Smith is free and clear.

    Time for the Dawgs to have a "Staycation" in Athens next year..Betcha' the last thing Richt told them was STAY outta' trouble...Catching up with old pals from home usually means some serious partying..Wonder if they continued on to the Beach or turned around and headed for home?..Puts a damper on everyone else's Spring Break.

    A substantial number of these kids if not the majority of them have a completely different ethos than the majority of the fanbase. His dominant feeling right now is anger/sorrow that he got caught, not shame for what he was doing and that it let down his teammates. This is the way it is and I have realized I either have to deal with it or just condition myself to no longer watch the game. I get a little closer to the latter every year .

  • Does anyone else find it odd that the article on rickeystokesnews.com that the arrest was made at 11:41pm and the article was posted at 114am? I mean I know Dothan is probably the 5th largest city in Alabama but I'm not even sure this would have been posted as quick if this were to happen in Athens. Seems a little too quick for me...and I'm not making excuses for what transpired on B. Smith's part.

    Crossed my mind, definitely. Don't think I've ever seen one reported quicker unless someone was at the scene.
