Boise D??

  • College Football Live was raving about Boise's Defense yesterday, saying "it could be the best D they have had yet. Do y'all think with our lack of experienced playmakers and their supposely great D, we might have a low scoring game in ATL??

    BigDawg1612

  • I could see it. I keep telling everyone that Boise ain't no joke

If it wasn't that it'd be something else. The media has adopted Boise as a team it can't stop talking about so they are getting overhyped. (I love that! Will make it sweeter when we beat them). But Boise's d wouldn't stack up against 2/3 of the ones in SEC. I don't care, no one will convince me they have the horses to take on a pissed off bunch of Dawgs in the Ga Dome. Not seeing it.

  • I'm rolling with Double R on this one! No freaking way am I going to believe they can hold us! I think they are an extremely well coached and disciplined team, but I think we'll be just as well coached and disciplined this season! We're GEORGIA and real Dawgs with a lot of backed up anger are hard to put down! They need to be worried about our D

  • I see this the same way I saw it when Boise came down to Athens. That year everyone was raving about their running game and how our D simply wouldn't be able to stop them. I think we did alright that year and we will do just fine this year. If we are as pissed off as we should be, and as we seem, we will win that game.

  • I think it will be hard for Boise to do anything with
300 pound linemen in their face all game and our overall
Team speed. They haven't faced anything close to a hard hitting
Fast SEC defense. And they also have playmakers
that are not experienced all they have is Kellen Moors
and he will be picking himself off the dome turf all
night. Crowell runs for 150 yds in his first game!

  • I agree with D4L, we definitely have the bigger "D."

  • By the way, last year Boise St ranked 2nd in total defense and scoring defense.

Everyone keeps thinking we're going to kill this team that won 12 games last year after ourselves going 6-7. Don't mind tellin you that scares the hell outta me.

    LOL. Ok, fine.

I think because we whipped them so bad a few years ago people think it will be easy again, and that's not the case. Ask VaTech.

    Anyway, hope I'm wrong.

  • Boise St. may in fact have a terrific defense, but it's highly unlikely they've see an offensive line as massive as ours. We'll have a 40- 50 lb. size advantage across the line. If our guys can play smash mouth football for four solid quarters, I think that'll present a significant problem for Boise St.'s smaller team. We need to win the time of possession battle in this game, allowing our strength and speed to wear them down by the 4th Qtr.

  • I agree with MountainDawg, I think some of y'all might be taking them too lightly. This will be an extremely tough game to win, I know we are talented enough to win, just hope we play all 4 qtrs.

  • I think that we have a realistic chance to win this game, but to think that we're going to go into the Dome and steam roll these guys may be a little ambitious. Do I think it could happen? Sure. Do I hope it happens? Absolutely. However, Boise has shown time and time again that when the lights come on and the Nation's eyes are upon them they step-up and are READY. I hate to say this, but recently when we're in that situation we've folded and gotten completely embarrassed. Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time that we came out and slapped around a quality opponent. UF in '07 is the most recent that I can think of and that was over 3 seasons ago.

If we come out fired up early and play with some emotion, something we've been lacking these past few seasons imo, we'll be OK. If we come out flat its going to be a LONG night. The first 10 minutes of this game may be the most crucial 10 minutes of the season.

  • Don't think they can hang with us, But really, my problem with Boise is that they are very good midmajor team and playing them is a no-win for us in minds of most of our fans and most SEC fans. We kill em, we were supposed to do that. We barely win, it looks bad. We lose and the season is shot from day one. Not fair but that is how it sets up.

  • well, i think a close win over them would be regarded as a good one based on where each program was a year ago. It is a good measuring stick. Truth is that if we can't beat Boise with months to prepare I don't think the season is shot but it is going to prove again that we are not where we should be and will prob mean a coaching change, imo.

  • I don't think anyone is downplaying Boise, as a matter of fact I think they've been given a lot of respect from our fanbase! They've gone out and beat reputable opponents, like VaTech. Let us not forget that that same VT team came out thinking they had it in the bag and later found themselves in a serious dog fight that they ended up on the short end of the stick on. WE aren't a team that feels anyone is afraid of, we've been losing and out of national spotlights for far too long so we're not taking anybody lightly! THIS is why we'll kick Boise's ass! We NEED it while they just want to put another notch on their belt! We're the SEC and we wouldn't dare lose on the grand stage to Boise! I'm calling the win... By at least 10pts

I think Boise fans would say the same thing, and they probably have more of an argument than we do. They'll be a top 7-8 pre-season team taking on a middle of the pack, potentially unranked team from the SEC. MUCH bigger win for us than for them.

Maybe but we'd be a huge win for them too, esp in AtL They only get a couple a chances a year to prove they are legit enough to contend for the BCS

Take a look at the teams they played, If Georgia had a schedule like that we would defiantly not have lost 7 games last year.

    Mon 09/06/2010 @ Virginia Tech * ^ 33 - 30 W
    Sat 09/18/2010 @ Wyoming * 51 - 6 W
    Sat 09/25/2010 OREGON ST. 37 - 24 W
    Sat 10/02/2010 @ New Mexico St. * 59 - 0 W
    Sat 10/09/2010 TOLEDO * 57 - 14 W
    Sat 10/16/2010 @ San Jose St. 48 - 0 W
    Tue 10/26/2010 LOUISIANA TECH * 49 - 20 W
    Sat 11/06/2010 HAWAII 42 - 7 W
    Fri 11/12/2010 @ Idaho * 52 - 14 W
    Fri 11/19/2010 FRESNO ST. * 51 - 0 W
    Fri 11/26/2010 @ Nevada * 31 - 34 L OT
    Sat 12/04/2010 UTAH ST. 50 - 14 W
    Wed 12/22/2010 UTAH * ^ 26 - 3 W

They are a well coached team, but If you swap our schedule with them they wouldn't be ranked in the top 10 nationally. I would bet my life on that.
