Not going to be a whole lot on the live thread today, folks.
UGA has shortened practice to about an hour this afternoon. The workout is in helmets and no pads ... AND we just got word that the workout will be closed completely to the media.
So ... that doesn't really leave much for me to pass along until after practice. No Richt after practice today, but defensive players (including freshmen) are scheduled to be available to reporters.
Will also have injury updates on here when we get 'em ...

well thats partially disappointing, but still look forward to whatever you can get us G. Will you get a chance to interview Jordan Jenkins?
I'll also remind you that UGA closing practice completely to the media also means there won't be the practice report later tonight that I was planning to do.
My apologies, but this sort of thing does happen from time to time ...
Now there WILL be post-practice coverage from interviews up later, just not a practice report.
That's the plan
sweet! thanks for the work G! keep on grinding season starts in 1 week!
I'm afraid the closing practice thing could be a recurring theme this week. Mark Richt was not pleased Monday about the media being able to witness Keith Marshall get dinged, and he made that clear during his post-practice press conference.
So UGA closing practice on the fly could have had something to do with that.
The schedule also sets up to where access will be cut in the coming days.
Wednesday will bring a "practice game" at Sanford Stadium that is basically the third scrimmage of the preseason. From a coverage perspective, we'll kind of play that by ear to see if UGA is going to release stats as usual, but the word is that the media will not be able to view any portion of that either. Thursday's practice (another short workout set to be built around special teams) will also be completely closed as well.
I know that's probably not good news for those of you who love the practice reports, but we'll see how it goes.
Art Schlichter's cellmates and Mo Clarett's rugby team believe Ohio State always does things honestly.....
why is it that big of a deal if the media witnessed someone getting banged up? do they just not wont to have to answer the questions about it
Has more to do with the fact that he took a lick and then returned to practice. If no media was there, it would've been like nothing happened at all. That's what our coaches want our opponents to think.
posted this over on the closed to media topics
my guess here is that the drill yesterday in which marshall got injured, was not suppose to be a full contact drill, but the player in this case lowered himself to KM's helmet level. This may have seriously upset richt because it was scout team work and that is a HUGE NO NO for scout teamers. So maybe he has shut it down for a couple days to make sure that everyone out their understands what scout team work truly means. just my 2cents
it would have been completely different if they were running a full scrimmage like they will tomorrow, but since it was drills and none of the other tailbacks got licked like that i believe it raised a red flag.
That lack of practice reports thing really sux Gentry.
Perhaps it's time to break out the ol' squirrel cam.
Injury report is out ...
No Andrews listed (so he was back)
No Keith Marshall listed either
Mark Beard was limited with knee sprain, Chris Conley limited with shoulder contusion, TK still limited, Jay Rome limited with hamstring strain.
Ok so nothing awful reported..
