Arkansas, no doubt. I think the system and style of football that Bielema employs will translate well to the SEC. Malzahn's offense is difficult to sustain against the top SEC teams/defenses unless he strikes gold with another once in a lifetime type of player like Cam Newton. It also puts major strain on the defense. JMO.
Definitely Ark, although Auburn might see more immediate effects due to the change in offense that fits their personel better. But basically, Auburn just fired their head coach and hired their offensive coordinator.
Here is one for you Rusty...
Better Hire: Auburn getting Gus or Kentucky getting Mark Stoops?
Arkansas by far. Bielema has shown that he can recruit Texas and Florida. He also runs a system that will work in the SEC.
Malzahn is another AU puppet coach hire. The powers that be down there are still running the show and they aren't going to give a guy like Kirby Smart the control that he would want. Gotta keep it in the Auburn "family" with them down there which is going to kill that school.
Art Schlichter's cellmates and Mo Clarett's rugby team believe Ohio State always does things honestly.....
Arky for sure. Solid hire IMO
I don't like either to be honest.
rusty if you have read phillip marshall's breakdown of what went wrong in auburn you can see they have not solved that. the culture isn't going to change. it was a very poor long term hire. i like arky's hire. i love brett's offenses and he is a very good fit for them. brett will get tenpenny to change his commitment.
Johnny Dwight commits to Bama on 6/4/13 ranked the 44th DT in the nation by 247sports and 87 rating a 3 star. Now see the Bama bump.
Arkansas got the better coach.
Auburn got the better entertainment cause they get Malzahn's crazy-biotch wife in the deal!!
I don't buy the Arkansas hire - that was the Big 10. Not the same in the SEC. Look at their bowl record against SE= 4 - 8. This is not going to change because he is at Arkansas. Wisconsin has the propensity to run the ball well. That might be what he does at Arkansas but what about defense. Defense wins Championships.....along that line - both are subpar hires in that respect.
From a defense standpoint - Auburn will be the loser on the defense side because with the spread - it is quick and fast paced if it works great. If it does not - you get some of the situations UGA had. The defense plays a lot of snaps and has to be in shape and have depth. Otherwise, your offense does not give them a lot of rest and they have to score points to keep up.
Either way - don't really care - don't let Strong go to UT and I am fine.
running the ball and stopping the run is not just the big 10.. if could have stopped or even slowed it down in the sec title game we win by double digits. i think you are underestimating what brett b could do in arkansas.
