Tuff day for me today. I had to put my Chocolate Lab down today, had her for 11 good years.
Labs are great pets.
Do you have another dog?
My family has two pets because that 2nd dog helps us sooo much when the older one goes to the fire hydrant in the sky.
Blessings to you and yours.
Sorry to hear. I lost my 10 year old husky last year.
Aww man! I'll say a prayer for you seriously! I lost my 14 year old cocker a few months back so I truly know the feeling! We were gonna put her down the wknd she died. I'm so glad she died first... I don't think I could've brought myself to actually do it. Think about the fun times and it'll get better
No she was the only one. Probably will be looking for one soon.
Sorry my friend. I know that's tough. My golden is pushing 14 and it's tough watching them go down. I feel for you
SD48, Sorry to hear that. I lost my yellow one back in october. Have had five in my lifetime and they are some of the best friends anyone could ask for. It always takes me awhile before I get another. But its not the same in my boat without them. Hang in there dude.
Thanks guys +1 for you all!
Truly sorry for your lose. I'll say a prayer. We just put our 14 year old Golden down last weekend. Found out the day we did that he had suffered a stroke two days prior and that was the reason he didn't know where he was anymore, couldn't get him to eat, etc. It was harder than I thought it would be. I know how you feel for sure.
That sucks man. Don't know what I'll do when I lose my black lab. I'll say a prayer for ya though
Very sorry for your loss.
Always a tough thing to lose a pet.

Really, really sorry. Sincere condolences.
Sorry to hear that, I know it hard, try to enjoy all the special memories of her. God bless
Sorry to hear that SmithDawg. My 10 year old yellow lab, who's name is "Munson", is really slowing down and I'm already dreading that day. Hang in there.
Was writing a reply to the OL thread and just got the chance to come on and give my condolences; I was truly sorry to read that.
The fond memories you have of the two of you together in the Great Outdoors will, I hope bring you solace in your loss.
No truer words than 'Man's best friend!'
I am truly sorry for your loss.
Words are truly inadequate to even try to convey the sorrow I know you feel!
Just know there's a tail wagging for you in God's great heavenly outdoors, eagerly awaiting that time in the far future when you and his best animal friend on earth will someday be reunited!
May God truly bless you in this time of deep sorrow! Take care, my friend!
Thanks for sharing your grief with us!

Sorry to hear that. i'm sure she was a DGD.
So sorry to hear that. We had to put down our Rusty, 16 year old dachshund, a few months ago and it really hurts still. They are family members and it just killed me doing it. I now have a 16 year old dachshund left and 2 - 9 year old black labs. I am trying my best to enjoy each day I have with them. They are our kids.

Sorry to hear that. My prayers are with you. I have two dogs. They are my boys turned four today. Stay strong for the rest of your family. I know it is easier said than done. Remember the good times.
My Yellow lab just turned 13. I know her day is getting closer and it's hard to think about.
I hope you are doing ok and I'm sorry for you're loss.
Praying for you man I know it's tough.
So sorry..I've had three black labs in my lifetime..All great dawgs..Losing them is just like a family member passing.
Sorry for you loss my friend. I lost my long time companion a few years back, and she was 14 years old. She was a terrific cocker spaniel. Had a bad year that year, losing my wife, my father and then my dog. I found a cure for my dog though, and that was to go out and get another one. They become so much a part of your life, it is hard for me to imagine not having a dog around the house. I got a basset hound this time, and although she is hard headed as all get out, she is almost as lovable as the cocker spaniel was.
Very sorry to hear that. I got my yellow lab my Sophomore year at UGA, he is 7 now. He is still crazy as can be, you can have him if it eases the loss. Jk my fiancé is in veterinary school at UGA now so we are big time dog lovers, we are three deep between the two of us. Very very sorry for your loss.

Very sorry to hear that my friend. I am dreading that day myself, but not as much for me (don't get me wrong, I'll be devastated) but for my daughter- she hasn't known a day in her life without Violet and they are best friends. Breaks my heart just thinking about it.
Dogs are such great animals and wonderful pets. I saw a bumper sticker yesterday that really struck a chord with me "I pray people see me the way my DOG does". So very true.
