If I owned 247sports I would have my toes in the sand drinking out of a pineapple cup somewhere
If you think they are doing it just for money then tOSU or Penn St would be getting the bumps. BOL is not the top site on 247.
And if Lucky just started a company so his team could be the best recruiting class every year then the guy has Updyke problems. I agree with Gentry if the Kid was commited to any place but Bama it would not be brought up. And if Bama is only getting the #1 class because of 247 sports then that means Georgia is locking down the state and keeping the in bumped top talent at home and CMR and Bobo are the best recruiters in the SEC. I don't see how it can be both.

the real question is would he got a jump from 90-97? there is a debate to be made both ways. but its still fishy
I see where you're coming from, I just don't believe it but that's just my opinion
that could be the case. either way we will see bama in the dome this year
The kids you guys are talking about... Rico, Preister etc, got small bumps.. and they got bumped from a low 80 something to a high 80 something, thats no sweat. Bessent just got bumped from a 90 to a 97... a 97 CB is one of the top 2 or 3 CBs in the nation... that is a little fishy... this isnt just a 2-3 point bump like our guys get.
I agree with a lot said here. It does seem sketchy and the bump to a 97 is definitely a stretch. I don't think calling each other out is necessary but the myth will not change unless light is shed on it. I hate this as much as you guys and beliethat hat the perception is that all these kids are 4-5 stars committing to Bama. Kids don't have time or the ability to see what we see. I know that I would feel better about myself if I were a member of the top class in the country. Not saying that it's affected any kids' decisions but it may and that unknown is tied to the perception. It just seems Bama gets the benefit of the doubt and any factor that tips the scale in their favor for a recruit should be viewed objectively. Just seems that scale is always loaded on the Bama side.

Kentavius street went from 90-95 . That is a five point jump and he is a dawg lean. Is that fishy or are we gonna play semantics with one or two point differences?
Rico and Priester went from unranked or a high two star to a four star. That's a big bump.
Street's bump came after the release of his new film, which was then evaluated. Therefore, it was justified. Completely different situations. Bessent rose after "extra" tape was evaluated. His Jr. film was already out there, and evaluated, leading to his initial 90 ranking. What was on this "extra" film that wasn't seen on his Jr. film to warrant a massive jump? It just doesn't look good for 247, any way that you look at it. Although, I wouldn't get too bent out of shape on rankings because the true experts are the coaching staffs, not reporters evaluating prospects for recruiting services.

Rico blew up our camp, and deserved a rankings boost based on that performance. The issue w/ Bessent's jump is that his Jr. film was out there, evaluated, and he was ranked a 90 based off of it. Then several months later, he was re-ranked a 97 based on "extra" tape. Strange. That's where the negative perception comes from.

That is 100% completely different, they werent ranked because they hadnt been evaluated, or there was nothing to go on with them. Rico did blow up camp. Where did Bessents come from, what did he do besides commit to Bama?

Rusty has answered this question for you. You just don't want to except it.

Chubb, Parrish, McDowell, Dante Sawyer, Bessent were going to get bumps based off those meetings I was in. I had to call down to Camden County to get extra tape on Bessent and Chris Williams while I was there. I gave my recommendation on Williams and then called it a day after 7 hours of meetings.
Rusty said that they requested additional film from his school, received the additional film, reviewed the additional film, and just met last week with his contemporaries to discuss the additional film.
It's not what Bessent did, but what 247 did.
Ohhh it just so happens that 7 point bump comes a day or two after he commits to Bama, ok! Why would anyone be suspicious... Especially with the history of that with them.
Ole DawgCommander, kingdawg, and MaybeNxtYear arguing/debating, just like old times huh fellas.
I'm not arguing I'm just discussing a topic nothing personal (but seriously a recruiting conspiracy is comical though).
Why don't you take your OP to tBB and get a national opinion on it. Because IMO the reason people are upset is just because it's Bama. If the kid commited to Missouri I don't think anyone would notice or care.
fwiw... it's so easy to get bent out of shape when you don't know the full story.
That's the same for any situation where people are passionate.
(why do we not have a full field indoor facility... why do we offer instate guys slower than our neighboring states... why do some 5 stars step in and shine [theus] while other guys get shuffled around in an attempt to reach their potential [samuel IV].)
From the outside looking in, it's so easy to get emotional and see things as black and white when there are alternatives not even considered.
It's not a big deal either way. It's human nature.
Dante Sawyer - 90 to 92
Nick Chubb - 90 to 94 to 93 to 94 to 93(they couldn't decide I suppose)
Malkolm Parrish - his bump was way back on March 4th to a 90 from unranked, he was just evaluated
McDowell - from a 90 to a 93
Bessent - 90 to a 97
Bessent went from outside the top 20 in GA to the #4 rated player in GA, 9 days after committing to Alabama. There is no way his reevaluation wasn't due to the fact he committed to Bama is all I'm saying... But thats cool it happen.
