Looks to b gone. Personally I don't think this is a big blow. He plays way to high and is not explosive at all. Taylor and Mayes will fill in nicely.
What makes you say that about him leaving? And I respectfully disagree. Bodies to rotate on the DL are always appreciated IMO.
Apparently wasn't at a team meeting tonight. I am excited to see what John Taylor can do.

A body that can't get the job done consistently doesn't need to be rotating. He plays high almost every play and gets turned sideways more than he should. I know a lot behind the scenes about him. Were better off IMO.
So what your saying is we are better off losing a player that has 3 years of SEC experience for a play with one year of scout team experience. KG is headed to the NFL this year or the next he plays one of the most physically demanding positions in the most physical conference. I just hope you are trying to do the whole reverse psychology thing on yourself, and you don't really believe that. Any of those young players may end up being better than KG in the long run, but to say they will be ready for a 12 game grind in the trenches next year is a stretch.
I think Geathers is solid.. I really do... BUT, I think Jonathan Taylor starts next season regardless. At least at some point during the season he would. Just my opinion.
"....All I ask is that he be loyal to Georgia, proud of that jersey, and try like the devil to win." --- Wally Butts
If y'all have been happy with his play, then you haven't been watching.
Physically demanding???? He can't even get a push against a 275lb center when he isn't double teamed! When he is double teamed he is completely out of the play. He rarely gets a push, is rarely square, and always high. All those things lead to a RB having a field day. Especially when the other team realizes he can be mauled by their underweight center. He was below average against both Bama and Nebraska. He should thank John Jenkins for moving to DE so he could gain stats this year. Teams started doubling JJ6 from the outside and leaving KG with the Center. We will be better without him. His depth won't help.
i'm not glad geathers is leaving, but i'm excited to see what taylor and mayes can do. kwame was nearly 6'6 and was going to be playing high a lot. he did not have a good game against nebraska, but there were other things going on besides him failing to disengage or get push.
"His Depth won't help", is one of those statements so outrageous you just end the conversation.
+1 people get mad at guys for chasing money and their dreams. but isn't that what college prepares you for. he would be our best d lineman next year hands down. we need him to stay. maybe Murray is recruiting him to stay
Steve Spurrier is a God, and Mark Richt worships him
He is nowhere near our best DL. Garrison Smith is our best DL. JT will be our best Interior DL next season whether KG is here or not. He doesn't make enough impact to be our best DL. It's best to let him go and move on to someone else that can make an impact. I'm just being honest in my own evaluation. People get upset because sometimes they don't think fans should have an opinion on players and then call it bashing. It's just a truthful analysis of his play this season. He won't be drafted IMO.
If you've got examples... show them.
Issues on our DL have been blown way out of proportion.
Kwame had virtually an identical season to what John Jenkins gave us last season.
Jenks was able to beat more double-teams than Kwame. But KG did have his share of successes, too (you've got to remember that Jenkins had a breather last season. KG... not so much).
Kwame had a darned good season. He's not better than John Jenkins.
And our defense may have been better if we kept both of them at NT and rotated other guys at DE (who knows... all speculation).
But Kwame was not a big dropoff from what we got at the NT position last season.
Geathers would have helped with depth, but he is not a determining factor if the DL will b good or not next year. I saw him get manhandled by plenty of centers this year. At 6'6 like some else stated he is gonna play high, but at his position you just can't and b successful. He will b drafted probaly in the fourth or fifth round. He really needed another year. If he drops his pad level could b a really good nose.
