team didn't fight their heart out, etc., but Saban is 49 and 0 when he rushes for more than 150 yards and we gave up more than twice that so no way we could win. The Ala OL was not overrated as some thought. The D shut down Bama's passing except for the one big play when Swan was beat but they definitely failed to stop the run. Not saying they weren't trying their best-they were just overmatched by Bama's OL and backs.

Disagree, lost because of a broken play at the end. We destroyed their secondary. We went 80+ yards on them in 30 seconds. We didn't lose because of his rushing stats.
Dawgs on Top!
Yep...we score at the end and the message boards would be full of 'experts' debating the prevent defense rather than "to spike or not to spike".
Wrong. Not many teams win while giving up 350 yards on the ground. UGA could still have won the game despite those gaudy numbers but they just ran out of time. I think if UGA holds Bama to about 200 yards on the ground we win the game. A key play was the first down Yeldon got late in the 4th quarter. Poor tackling allowed him to stretch for a huge first down and the next play is a bomb to Amari Cooper. One could also say Marshall Morgan's missed field goal cost us a chance at the game as well or the 2 point conversion attempt Bama converted. If Marshall makes the first field goal the ball game is totally different or if the 2 point conversion would have got stuffed imo.
The fact is, a lot happened in this game. Both teams made amazing plays and big mistakes. They ran all over us in the 2nd half but we punched back every time. Those were two great teams playing, you can't say one thing in particular cost us the game. We went toe to toe with with a damn good team and came up 4 yards short. It happens. We played well enough to win, it just wasn't meant to be.
God needs a Safety on His team. RIP 21
I got you back up with a +1 man. There is no reason that you should be getting downvoted for making a great point, but a lot of guys on here don't know what a "discussion" is, they just know how to drink koolaide.
This was without a doubt the best game I have ever seen from my Georgia Bulldogs. Every one gave all they had and we were 5 yards from knocking off the immortal crimson tide and going to the NCG. I could not be more proud to be a Georgia Bulldog, and I think we have really turned a corner coach wise and mentality wise. We now EXPECT to be in the NC hunt when we take the field, and it won't be long before we get one!
With that said, this man has a great point. We gave up 350 yards rushing. If we had given up just what many would consider a great day on the ground, say 210 yards, we beat Bama by 14+ easily. I was thrilled with the game regardles,, but if we play run D like we know how that game is not even close. We could have given up 100 yards to Lacy and Yeldon and still won by 14 or 21, so don't down vote this fella!
Georgias scored on a blocked FG and Alabama turned the ball over inside the 5 yardline. Thats Why UGA had a chance at the end. Both plays were great plays made by Bulldog players but Alabama finding a way to win that game after a bunch of things went sideways was impressive. I didnt even mention the fake punt that worked for Bama but was blown dead and the fake punt that worked for Georgia on Gerogia's first scoring drive.
They have the best oline in college football.
You speak like you didn't even watch the game and just looked at the box score. Cmon now.
Well said scottp. I couldn't agree more with: "a lot of guys on here don't know what a "discussion" is, they just know how to drink koolaide."
Exactly. Showing support for and loving your team doesn't have to involve blind refusal to critique that team's performances or make-up.
If a few decent, routine tackles (which involve wrapping up a ball-carrier) get made in the second half, the outcome of this game is drastically different.
