I could have swore that they ran in the TE after someone else ran off. IOW they broke the huddle with different players run him on right before snapping the ball. Is that illegal? If not heck of a play.
I'd have to recheck, but at the time I thought it was the alignment that confused us. Short stack to the tightend side made him really a tackle eligible. Good design and bad recognition on our part. It happens.
The officials then ran up and stood over the ball, giving us a chance to make personnel changes if we wanted to do so. When it was evident we weren't going to, they then set the ball ready to play.

Excellent point. When they ran him in I thought "they may go to him since we didn't cover him" and they did.
