To see what our problems were.
Right off the bat, Rambo really stinks. He shy's away from contact and he really just takes advantage of errant throws right to him. I think we'll be better at FS this year.
Our whole secondary just looked lost. Is that because of all the suspensions? I hope so!
We have got to stop Shaw's feet. That will be a difficult task again. He is dangerous.
We can't have another slow start this year from Murray. I think as a senior he'll be ready to roll come game one. I hope so anyways.
There it is again, our LB's and DB's just get torched in coverage. I hope Grantham fixes that, but I'm not so sure he can.
Their boys played like they wanted to win and we played like a bunch of wussies. Glad its in Athens this year!
PS: I am glad we are playing in Athens. I saw 3 early no calls on pass interference that will hopefully be thrown this time.
Tree and rambo were over rated imo.
I can't watch that game again. I swore after that night I never would.
I quit when they went up 28-0. I'm not sure WTF our D was doing, but they better have their heads in the game this year. I honestly think it will be better with all the personalities gone.
Rambo yes...Tree not sure about that one. Tree is a freak athlete who hasn't fully developed mentally yet...but it is hard to say he is over rated.
I have always said, when you have a great pass rush your FS is suppose to have a lot of iterceptions because of errant throws by the QB.
I agree man. Rambo yes, Ogletree not so much. He would have been dominant if he could have kept his mind on the game and we could have gotten a whole year out of him.
One thing that will hopefully be nice is to not be breaking in two new kickers. I hope that both Barber and especially Marshall feel a lot more confident this year. I think they will have the jitters out and hopefully perform much better. Big hang times and splitting the uprights!
Rambo makes that INT early on and it's game on. They go on to score and the floodgates opened. You can blame that entirely on the suspensions and lack of in-game reps.
I believe we are very naive if we think we are going to shut SC down. Their offense is probably the best they have had under Spurrier even without Lattimore. Connor Shaw? I'm not so sure he is even their best QB?? Thompson saved their hides against Clemson and against Michigan.
I am predicting this will be the SEC and maybe the national game of the year.
I'm predicting high scoring and multiple overtimes.
Art Schlichter's cellmates and Mo Clarett's rugby team believe Ohio State always does things honestly.....
Yeah all I have heard for the past 2 years is how Shaw is waaaay overrated and how we will shut him down. That kid is a gamer and we will need to set the tide early to beat him. Mikey Davis is a good back and we need to shut the running game down to have a shot. They are a solid team and I agree that this will be one of our biggest contests of the year. We can lose to Clemsuck and still win the SECCG and go to the Nat'l Championship game probably, but we cannot afford to lose to these jokers at home.
Tree would do a great play and fail at the easy one by running right out of the play or not sticking his nose up and into the running lane to close down the running game.
This game will come down to the same thing it usually does.... who controls the line of scrimmage and turnovers.
2 years ago in Athens turnovers and one special team play kept that from being a win for you guys. Also not to mention Garcia had an early turnover and your first three trips inside our 20 only resulted in 6 points (missing one field goal) Score 17 points in those first three series and it's lights out for my Gamecocks. Depending on what happens in week one for both teams (I'm going to assume we will both win) USC will need to weather the storm for the first 10 minutes. That's something that UGA did not do last year and it just snow balled. If it's close after the first quarter then it's going to be a typical USC/UGA game...any USC fan who thinks that we're going to waltz into Sanford Stadium and roll you guys is delusional and isn't smart enough to post on a message board.
Personally, I'm cheering for you guys to beat Clemson, but for it to be close. The closer the game the better, but I want you guys to win for two reasons...number 1...because screw Clemson (I've tried to reason with Clemson fans lately and they've just reaffirmed to me why I should hate them) and number 2 because I want our game to be the marquee game of the year... 8 o'clock primetime game with gameday! I want Brent to salivate all over those UGA co-ed's just like I do...and I want the whole world to watch the game.
Best of luck in Clemson!
“But Todd, he’s like Keith, J.J. and Brendan but built into one. And that’s just not normal.” - Arthur Lynch
that game should be very motivational for us this year. GO DAWGS!
I agree. We need to make all the players sit in the film room and watch this entire game at the end of practice one day. Tell them to light a fire or they will repeat the past.
they have seen the game many times and will again. GO DAWGS!
Good news! When you talk to the team saved (since I really think you are CMR lol) tell them not to just give up after one play and to take Clowney down a peg!!!
