comparing South Carolina to Vandy is laughable. No disrespect because you did beat the brakes off of Vandy last year. But saying that...Grantham hasn't figured out USC yet..he's 0-3...and the Gamecocks are scoring an average of 32.3 points a game. Georgia will need to score points to beat USC. Especially considering how young both defenses are going to be this year....especially at LB.
I agree and if it comes down to a shootout I like our chances. Heck we almost won the last shootout in Athens with a sophomore QB and no OL or RB.
This year we have a fifth year future NFL QB, A Heisman candidate RB, every member of a very impressive OL returning (plus added quality depth at OT) and Mitchell, Conley, Bennett leading a receiving corps that also includes Scott-Wesley, Tibbs, Rumph, and Wooten. Not to mention a 2nd year FB, not a rookie FB. Oh and our preseason All-American TE Lynch who will give some time to Rome as well.
I really like our chances if it comes down to a shootout this time 'round.

Average WR corps? Really?
No offense, but to most uga fans South Carolina and Vandy are very comparable. Not a big rivalry, both have random years where they play us tough, not much tradition, etc.
I am not laughing. And I stand by my comparison. Grantham had it out for Vandy. And I hear he has it out for SC this year.
No Lattimore, no chance. This one is not as close as most think. UGA big. GATA! GO DAWGS!
I like this guy. He is cool in my book.
I don't like this guy. He has little brother syndrome.
Lattimore made their offense hum against the SEC.
Not having him is a huge plus for us.
That said... Jarvis Jones just flat out balled for us. And we're going to have to learn to create good fortune without him. Jarvis wearing a Pittsburgh uniform is a big plus for them.
The team that runs the football better wins. I think we have the edge this year.
You must not be a student. Everyone on campus hates the cocks more than UTk. Like it or not, they are a good program under Spurrier. Elite? No. But good? Absolutely dammit.

They've either beaten us or challenged us each of the last five years. I like your optimism, but USCe is our toughest game this year IMO.
I never said they're bad. But they're no where close to auburn, Florida, tech, or Tennessee if we are talking about a rivalry.
South Carolina is the same as it always has been. They put together 2 good years every decade. Look it up.
It's just my opinion, but they are on the decline.
I understand the student body hating them. I'm class of '99 and I hate the very fabric of the University of Tennessee. But, I had to witness Tennessee get a national championship and a Heisman.
Not sure if serious
Richt and Grantham will tell you that he hasn't tapped into all of his potential as a linebacker.
He's in the NFL now and he's played 18 games in his life at the linebacker position. Actually... not even that many as he didn't finish all of those games.
It doesn't mean that he isn't a DGD... it just means that we didn't get his best.
(you could say that about a lot of Dawgs in the NFL).
He's still working up to it.
I'll give you the fact that our OL was not very good against SC. But at the end of the year they pushed UF around and dominated the almighty Bama. They really gelled halfway through the year and became very good and everyone is coming back.
Our WR corps is possibly the best in the SEC. Name one better please?
And the FB notion was not made as an impressing factor, it was made to say that we know have someone with a year under their belt that knows the play ppl completely. Gamechanger? No. Ability to help block SCs only decent player (clowney)? Definitely
Oh I know we didn't get his best. Unfortunately never had him for a full season. To say he is overrated is borderline r-word. I think guy I quoted is trollin
Uhm not trolling ...stating the truth.
He is a great talent physically but when it comes to technique he was very lacking.
You can not just rely on physical talent or emotion to play a football game, eventually you will get beat . You have to have the proper mindset and technique to go along with the physicality and emotion.

Well, I think they are not quite that good this year. The all time is 47-17-2? A lot of close games. Without Lattimore this a new game. In Athens, players and coaches pumped. They will feel like we did last year. IMO.
Toughest game this year is Clemson on the road in game one. Next is Fl. Third is SC. Fourth LSU. Again, just my opinion.
If we can't block Clowney or slow down Shaw/Davis, we screwed. Plain and simple.
You don't think they are worried about having to slow down our passing attack and run game?
I know I am, especially with an entire 2 deep at LB position with no game experience.
Good man Davidson.
