Steven is only 29 and on a bad team when every team in the NFL knows he is going to be the focus he still averages more then 4ypc. I think he would be a beast for the Falcons and I would go for him to be on the team.
Would you pursue him or just target a young back in the draft?
Younger back since Jackson can unfortunately never stay healthy.
"We just stepped on their face with a hobnailed boot and broke their nose! We just crushed their face!”
God needs a Safety on His team. RIP 21
I'd rather go cheap at RB and get a Freeney or Osi but still draft a DL or LB
Johnny Dwight commits to Bama on 6/4/13 ranked the 44th DT in the nation by 247sports and 87 rating a 3 star. Now see the Bama bump.
That man is 29 with alot of wear & tear & he is gonna want alot of money, he has always been disgruntled with Rams about contract issues so I definitely dont see him taking less for a contender..... having said that we can sign a cheaper FA RB or draft one in 3-4th round & find a suitable replacement for Turner, remember out team is built around the QB like GB, NO, Den, NE, we dont need to invest alot of $ in the RB position
I also like the idea of getting a blazing speed back. CJ Spiller still isn't the starter in Buffalo and he's been outstanding when he's had his chances.
"If" you could draft Lacy it seems exciting. My only issue is as good as the Bama backs look in college only Trenton has been good IMO. The backs at Bama run behind the best OL in college football every year. Mark Ingram has basically been a bust with N.O. and he seems like a more natural RB then Lacy.
SJ had no one to back up or help and if you give him a 5 year contract and get continue to get the 4 yard attack he brings and with our WR's he can can be better and get 3 strong years out of him then do it. Draft guarantees you nothing. You hope to land the players you want and hope the produce the way you want them. SJ is a piece the Falcons can land and use the 6'2 240 pounds to really put defenses on their heels. Don't forget we are not a run first team any more. Our offense has finally moved to being more vertical with the run game complementing it.
Truth is even Ahmad Bradshaw, DeAngelo Williams, any vet would make our run game better for the next 3 to 4 years. Our run game was just that putrid. I don't mind going younger but I like a vet joining the team.
I'm for that. Good post.
