Who would you hire?
I could write out a long post, but you're not worth the time. This link is all you need to know as to why Richt does not have the support needed from the University of Georgia, note the expenses column, where Alabama outspent Georgia by $14,000,000.
You made some valid points, but who is out there. I bet vol fans wish filmed would still e there. Grass isn't always greener on the other side.
All very solid points but you'll get downvoted into oblivion. For me this is unacceptable results although progress seems to have been made. Was it a product of the schedule? Maybe but i think we find out this year how much Richt has improved. There's no reason the dawgs shouldn't be on top and I mean winning SEC and BCS bowls regularly and bringing home those crystal balls. Do our fans expect the same? I don't know. I can't speak for others but I think if UGA gets an elite coach then it will be a wonderful time for us as fans. I'm trying to live to see UGA win a natty. The good news is if Richt stays until 2025 he should have 2 more SEC championships.
Kirby Smart would be my first interview. For starters, he is kicking our ass in recruiting.
You cannot be serious. Richt "does not have the support needed from the University of Georgia". What more does he need?
Wrong, Alabama's extensive recruiting staff, which more than doubles ours in headcount and salary is just as if not more responsible than one coach on their staff. Bama hired Clemson's former recruiting coordinator, Billy Napier, as an on site assistant. They're simply willing to spend money where UGA is not. Why do they have twice the strength staff and a significantly more qualified crew? Because they pay for it. Why do they consistently have some of the top assistants in football? Because they pay for them. Some of you folks are so out of touch with reality, it makes my head hurt.
Art Schlichter's cellmates and Mo Clarett's rugby team believe Ohio State always does things honestly.....
How about the additional $14,000,000 toward football related expenses that Alabama utilized last year (which we have available)?
These funds can go towards:
-higher quality assistants
We simply do not spend on par with teams like Alabama who have a culture that is committed to winning. You're blind and incredibly misinformed if you believe that we do.
Way to skirt around the evidence that he doesn't in fact have all of the support and resources that a school like Alabama does. I'm sure in your infinite wisdom, you already knew this, but here is the list of SEC championships since Richt has been in Athens:
No current coach in the SEC has more than 3 titles, and only LSU (4) has more than UGA since Richt has been in Athens (2 different coaches). No team has been to Atlanta to play in the game more than Richt's 5 appearances either.
Give the man the recruiting, strength, and support staff that Alabama has and I can promise you that you would see results within a year. It's honestly amazing what he's been able to accomplish with the obstacles that his own administration puts in front of him.
