The guy would be the #1 pick and earn 40-50 million yet he's required to come back and make south carolina millions before he can go get his. The NCAA is so hypocritical. Basketball players can leave after 1 but football and baseball players must stay for 3? Why are they the abritrator of when a kid is ready to get paid
I hope he doesn't suffer a similar injury to Lattimore next year while playing for free when he could be playing for about 10MM, although I wouldn't mind him tweaking a groin before playing us.
I like it. Hell you know what a state university education costs? Damn football, your first priority is to graduate or at least it should be . That school is the reason he is going to make millions

Bit of a vent here...I could care less if the nfl ceased to exist. It is not in any way a "good thing."
The coming litigation and crisis on TBI may kill it, or greatly diminish it, to good effect. Very similar to the near ban that college football faced at the turn of the last century. Though morally it's not defensible that we say that someone shouldn't be allowed to go to the nfl early because we like college football (even tho I agree with the sentiment), paying for someone to wreck their head for entertainment is equally indefensible. I get the money issue and that it's capitalism and all, but that don't make it right. The worst thing that can happen to college football is happening right now. This isn't the golden age, it's the peak before the fall into some college basketball/playoff/nba/too much money pit of Las Vegas betting hell.
That said, most of the football players in America would happily continue to play without an pay at all. I loved playing all sports, but football is pure joy. Even if scholarships and pay-for-play football completely disappeared tomorrow, we would still have football and institutions would still play and I'd still be a fan of UGA.
Do u know how many dumbasses would ruin there career if this was allowed. Hell kids ruin their careers every year by leaving just a year early. Can't make an exception for one kid.

the issue is the difference between the physicality of football and basketball... that's why the 3 year rule was put there in the first place for football. (obviously there was a different motivation for baseball since they allow high schoolers to be drafted).
plus, #1 picks don't make 40-50 million anymore. the top pick make half that.
you serious clark? GO DAWGS!
Would be stupid to.change the rule so they can leave earlier, CFB would not exist
Steve Spurrier is a God, and Mark Richt worships him
And BTW it is not an NCAA rule that they have to stay, it is an NFL rule
