I found out on here yesterday that my favorite place to go after the football games on Saturday ( Allens ) went out of business.
Can some of you give me some of your favorite places to go after game day?
Thanks in advance.
I tailgate more before the game than hang around town after it.
I always enjoyed Blind Pig and Roadhouse, though.
I tailgate before also. The past few years we had mostly early games so we would go there to get some wings and watch football.
Me like toppers
What's toppers? Is it halfway family oriented?
Lol. Thanks for the warning.
DePalmas' on Gaines School Rd is a good choice if you like traditional Italian cuisine.
Always crowded after games, but worth the wait if you have the time.
My wife loves itailian. Is there games on the TV?
Does your family like Shoe Models?
It doesn't cover the "halfway" point.
Actually we do the family thing on friday night. We set up our tailgate stuff and eveyone brings steaks for their group. We avg. about twenty five or so. But on the big games we have done around fifty. We have a great group of friends and family. We cordinate throughout the year as far as games, food, etc.. You and your family would be more than welcome anytime. We all stay at the same hotel. I've had a standing room for ten years or so. Same room. Creature of habit, I guess
They hung it up two years ago, lol. How long has it been since you've been to Athens? That place was an absolute classic though....you have good taste. Long live the Normaltown Flyers.
We tailgate at the Catholic Center across from the BM building. Reserved parking and clean BATHROOMS!
We tailgate on the corner of finley and broad. Where the old Taco mac/Red rooster used to be. But on fridays we set up in the hotel parking lot. Meet a ton of people like that
SD48 if you and your fam wanna hang sometime, send me a PM and I will give you some logistics. Man I gotta go my girl is giving me the dirty eye. Diving in the a.m. Altamaha river, like diving in a milkshake
Sure wish Charlie Williams (Pinecrest Lodge) was still around....
Allen's was actually reopened. It's on Hawthorne right by the YMCA. Locos is also a pretty cool spot
The new Allen's closed down the week after the Tech game... stuck with a gift card. Agree with LOCOS... good eats!
The original Allen's at Normal Town closed down about 5 or 6 years ago. The new Allen's on Hawthorne Ave. closed down the week after the Tech game... about 3 years in business. I enjoyed both... too bad. Had buds in The Flyers.
I just laughed out loud at work so hard on this^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That just started my day off right! Thanks guys!
"HOW BOUT THEM DAWGS"
If your family is from Alabama. LOL
