Help me understand how we give up the yards on average with one of the "top" DC's in the country. I don't get it! All these all stars with all of this NFL promise allow good and bad teams to go through them like a hot knife through butter ( al, sc, kty, gsu). Please don't tell me about the suspensions. 2011 posted good numbers (top 5 in nation). This past year...........what's that all about?
#18 scoring defense in the country.
It's not about yards. It's about points.

When Willie left, we were 63rd in the country.
Grantham played to win.
If that meant giving up yards on the ground to avoid good QBs eating us up through the air, then he did that.
The teams that gashed us (whether it is good or bad) were the teams that had QBs who forced our safeties to stay deep.
2011, 4 of our top 6 tacklers were DBs. Safety and nickel are huge in this run defense (especially safety).
The point is that we need those extra bodies crashing in to make the stop.
South Carolina, Tennessee, and Bama had the most efficient passing games that we faced.
They were also probably the worst performances of run defense we had on the season.

Great motivator. Brought our defensive mentality into the 21st century.
Best advice I can give you. We can't do anything about it.

motivator?! not nearly as good as Shawn Williams.
I know Al was loaded on offensive line but in the second half I was wishing we had some guys in shape up th middle. We sure were not giving up yards to control points. We were getting our a** kicked! Nine all stars on defense.......?? With his experience we should not have to be patient for him to learn college offenses. If you have met him you know he as an attitude. I'm sorry. I just think he is over rated.
We wiffed on 5 offensive recruits today... And went 1/2 on defensive recruits.
Granthem isn't to blame for today.
And Adams has been interested in playing in the 4-3 for months on end now. That's what won the day.

He's certainly overrated but an upgrade over sweet Willie. He's solid to above average on any given Saturday. Good position coach too just not sure if his scheme will allow him to have an elite defense. Also not afraid to let his players have it on the sideline if they screw up. I think UGA could upgrade the position but I'm not sure who to bring in. Maybe Ward from S. Carolina or Narduzzi from Michigan St.
Once a Dawg always a Dawg...How sweet it is!
