Clowney's foot steps? Initially, they're pretty similar. Both defensive ends. Both freak athletes. Both will play at about the same size in college. JC is a little bit taller and leaner as RN is a bit thicker and has a wider base. Both number one overall recruits. I believe (not positive on this) JC had a little better stats in high school but RN played better competition. Do you think RN has that same rare ability that Clowney possesses? This topic has me interested and just wanted to get everybody's opinions. Especially Rusty and Gentry.
“But Todd, he’s like Keith, J.J. and Brendan but built into one. And that’s just not normal.” - Arthur Lynch
It's not even close. Clowney is a once in a decade type talent. He was unstoppable at the high school level. Nkemdiche was neutralized at times. Nkemdiche is a very talented prospect, but just isn't at the same level.
You make a point but even as dominant as Clowney was at South Pointe, no one saw the type of impact he would have at the next level. So until we see Nkemdiche play, it's very hard to compare the two.
Isn't that in part on the other kids also? I mean, you do need to account for the talent difference for their competition. Clowney went against lineman who would've been back ups in Gwinnett.
Clowney played against top competition in sc. He also played.better than Robert at the under armor game. I think Robert will end up being a dt down.the road. I also didnt see how Robert was the number 1 player in the country
This^^^^ don't think its even close. Look at rn tape. most plays he cleaning up a play. never the 1st guy to the ball. jc had over 30 sacks as a senior. rn needs to learn how to pass rush. i always say things change when u aren't the biggest on the field. RN and Adams will both struggle at the next level because of this
Clowney was unblockable in high school; Nkemdiche wasn't.
No one knew how good Clowney would be because no one was talented enough to challenge him.

RN got triple teamed at the Under Armour game...
I believe RN is more like a julius Peppers type!!
