I heard that the kid who's mom did not want him to go to Bama has a girlfriend who was offered a job by Little Nicky? Now whether true or not, I think it is crappy and sounds shady. But on Twitter, I read someone who is conversant in these matters that it would only be a violation in basketball. My question is, what's the difference between football and basketball recruiting? Wouldn't the regulations be the same except numbers of players? Of course this is the NCAA so nothing HAS to make sense.

The difference in football and basketball is probably in the ball park of $1B a year....especially for the SEC.
Paulmac, first off great pics other than the attire. Secondly, I still think it is stupid for the NCAA to make that regulation differ between the two sports. I don't doubt Little nickie did offer her a job. Sounds like a perfect reading of the letter of the law not the spirit.
I don't know the facts of this case, but (assuming that they were true), it may be "legal", but it is still smarmy, shady, and violates the spirit of the rules. I guess people could call Saban a genius for finding loopholes and exploiting them. I just don't think that would be the way I would want my program run, Championships or not.
