Crowell: 'Rumors my whole life'

LSU's fearsome defense limits UGA's run game and banged-up freshman Isaiah Crowell, who says "I wanted to suck it up and play for my team.”

  • I just don't get UGA "fans" booing this kid.
He is a freshman. He is the constant center of internet chat room innuendo.
Yes I know he may have some problems but let him and the team work all that out. I just wish the damn fans would show support instead piling on.

  • The "nothing" comment just does not sound good. G if you had to guess do you think he will stay here or is he even happy?

The nothing comment means he doesn't care what the fans know about him bc he doesn't care what the fans think. Of course he us going to stay. Read the rest of the interview and it's apparent. Leave the kid alone and watch him grow as a person and a football player...,,

  • The only booing I heard was when Isiah was going out and "Boo" Malcolm came in for him.

I can't believe how emotional our fans are over a freshman back who had all the weight of the world on him. Our best back up back was Carlton who many fans didn't support due to his fumbling issues.

Isiah has a different personality and that's OK we just need our fans to understand he isn't a big vibrant personality.

  • So much hype on these kids when they come in and fans expect so much out of them. I was at the game and there were many boos not just on him!

I sat on the UGA side around the 35 yard line, the booing was very loud and it happened every time IC came out of the game with a limp. It was embarassing and as I told some others, there were several High school players sitting in our section, When our "fans" continued to boo IC, the kids were looking around at each other and saying would you want to play for these folks, and the answer was a loud HELL NO!

Booing a kid like that because he was limping off the field was uncalled for... Yes, I have heard about possible attitude problems etc., but I dont know how bad his ankle is hurt. He is still wearing our uniform and those who were booing him tonight embarassed me.

As someone else noted, there was no booing the kids when passes were dropped, or tackles were missed, etc. As a father if my son were playing at UGA and was treated that way I would take him home immediately. And if my son were a recruit and saw that type of behavior, I would not allow him to attend UGA. UGA is my school, but this stuff tonight was wrong.

  • We stopped blocking on the O line, period. Games are won in the trenches. We need to support this guy, he is only a freshman. He was clearly the best back we have. Booing any player is classless. A high ankle sprain takes weeks to heal properly. We need Marshall and Gurley to add true scholarship depth at this position. LSU beat us with their depth. Go DAWGS!

  • whether we like it or not, college football (no matter what team you root for) is entertainment, and people have spent hundred and thousands of dollars being involved in it. in the entertainment world you pay for a product on the stage or field. if you don't get what you believe you have paid for, then there is the element of booing. not saying i would do it to the kid, but you cannot blame people when they think they're getting hosed on what they've invested.

no matter how you rationalize it, booing an 19-year old limping off the field is pretty low. Fans like that should "invest" their money in falcons tickets and boo someone making 2 million a year

None of the money any fan puts into a team, aside from perhaps boosters, gives them the right to boo an 18 year old kid who wakes up every morning at 6am to run, lift, get yelled at by Joe T, go against LSU's defense on a bum ankle, etc...balance classes and a social life..all for your entertainment.

  • Plain to see the kid was hurt I love my dawgs but sometimes some of the so called fans ashame me. Too quick to jump on the players and coaches. 1st they are human beings, human beings make mistakes 2nd this team overcame so much adversity, some of which the fans created over Richt, not to mention injuries 3 this is still a young team in the sense of starters and they played a fantastic half of football with the best team in the country. Difference in this game was depth and #7 on the other team, they were simply better we all knew we lacked depth in certain areas and we all saw how LSU have done everyone else this year. I am proud of this team our defense is as good as anyone but we need to build depth like LSU and BAMA, the receivers need some time to season TK has always been inconsistent but if you cant see the difference in this team from last year and want to tear down this team then go cheer on someone else

Welcome to the bigtime. I didnt boo but I did not have a problem with it. Do you boo your politicians that you elect when they vote a way you dislike? Kids 18. Stop treating him like a baby. He is part of an 80 million dollar machine with an 120,000 square foot state of the art office. His situation is a body of work.

Finally someone sees the REAL picture. He is in the buisness of College Football. Its sounds bad but I know but I invested a lot of money over the last 5 yrs and I for one have every right to be disgusted about this kids lack of effort through the season. He knew what he was doing when he signed here. He is a 18 yr old ADULT not a kid. Stop excuses for him. He had a average season no stand out moments well besides SMOKEGATE. I'm still backing the DAWGS but please no excuses u MAN UP nobody will boo u he has chosen to BITCH UP so IC take ur licks and move on.

Lol. A lot of guys don't really see the big picture. realize these kids could actually die playing football...all for your entertainment.

Im sure everyone on this board would love to have the chance IC has been blessed with. But put yourself in his shoes. Could any of you guys go out there and run against that defense? Pass protect? I know I couldn't. So I'm not gonna bash the guy who got on campus and got the entire running game thrown on his shoulders while I'm just sitting on the couch, drinking and watching.

Forgive me for being direct, but where in the hell would you let your prodigiously gifted son play, then? UGA fans are no different than Bama, LSU, Auburn, UT, UF , Texas, OU, Michigan, tOSU , etc , fans in that regard.

Isaiah is a pansie. And a cancer. I don't like that he was boo'd, but he'd get that treatment no matter where he played (among "big time" programs).

    scrambledawg

  • Really they could also die from picking there nose. What the hell are u ranting about. IC I may not be able to now but at 18 I possibly could have had 14yrds. And Boo did a pretty good job. IC just has to step up we aren't the only ones hell coaches, players alike have seen this. He is on a major program if he is such a tenderheart and cant handle critics then go to Alabama State or Jacksonville State. He has to learn he will be scrutinized and his game is dissected he isn't in high school he is in SEC.

  • When your kids mess up, do you beat them down! Probably! Yes there is alot of money involved in this game. As adults it is our responsibility to be teaching these kids lifes lessons. What are we teaching them? You sound like a bunch of spoiled brats. THESE ARE JUST KIDS. They will be fine if we teach them properly. Trashing them is no way to help them or anybody else for that matter!
Most fans have spent alot of money @ UGA! but it does not give us a right to beat these kids down when they dont perform to our expectations!
I am proud of the way most fans have acted towards our team, but disgusted by a few that want to trash these kids! Just Damn Shameful!!!!!!!!!

Booing a College player is WAY out of line..These kids don't get paid..Fans sometime boo Coaches decisions(Whether to punt or go for a first down or Field goal, TD...etc)-That is understandable..If someone Boos a College player on our team near me-They will hear from me!-LOW,LOW class and please find another team to "Support"!
