Figured since Laremy Tunsil is a big UGA target too...

Man, I am a homer. Im a fan not a professional on this. Ofcourse I will believe that Tunsil would be best served coming to Bama. Im not here even bashing UGA I actually said I think UGA leads and it wont surprise me if he goes to UGA.

Dont get me wrong UGA puts guys in the league too but Bama has put alot of OL in the leage the past few years too. Andre Smith James Carpenter with 3 guys going possibly this year. Im not blasting dude Im just a regular fan just like you.

Also I am from Pelham where you at in Bham?

I don't feel like you are bashing. Great breakdown and good arguments presented. Glad you posted.

Cahaba Heights right near the summit.

I didn't mean to come off sounding rude but that's just a comment i can't agree with. Sure y'all have put a ton of OL into the league and no one would argue that. However, the guys you named above were highly rated players. These are can't miss guys no matter what college they attended. It doesn't show or prove the development of the players.

Its no prob man.. Just one humble fans opinion. Im sure that UGA fans feel that he would be best suited for the NFL if he came there too.

Used to play Cahaba Heights in baseball. I played at Chelsea. Whole family grew up in Cahaba Heights in those neighborhoods right behind the summit.

  • Bolden, Great breakdown, but you know I disagree on Tunsil. He is UGA bound. It won't matter which school he attends. The guy is a future NFL 1st round pick. Just so you know it doesn't matter I have a breakdown of OL to the league since Saban got to Bama (Richt in same time frame).

    Bama: Under Saban (5 years)
    Antoine Caldwell
    Mike Johnson
    Andre Smith

That's the guys on NFL rosters from Saban. You can add the three that will be drafted this year as well.

    UGA: Under Richt (5 years)
    Clint Boling
    Cordy Glenn
    Ben Jones
    Fernando Velasco
    Dennis Roland

These are the guys on NFL rosters from UGA.

I know more guys were drafted from both OL, but they aren't on NFL rosters. These are the guys that are actually legit. (like a Tunsil would be)

Pretty even considering we don't lose any OL this season to the draft, like ya'll didn't last season.

I will just go ahead and add that had Trinton Sturdivant not ripped up his knees to the point he could no longer play football, he would have been a 2/3 round draft pick last season and starting for someone. He was just that good.

Completely agree that both schools are great at putting guys in the league.

Just curious, this isnt a flame and I am too lazy to go back how many guys were first rounders from Richts campaign?

You also forgot James Carpenter. Seahawks 1st round pick a coupe years back

  • You are correct. He was placed on IR, therefore, he doesn't show up on the Roster.

I believe only Cordy was a 1st rounder. Boling was a 2/3, Jones a 2/3, Velasco a 5th I think and Roland a 6th. CMR has had many more OL drafted at UGA and a few more 1st rounders.

I think George Foster might be the only 1st round OL we have had under Richt. Trinton Sturdivant would have been a sure fire 1st round pick but his knees didn't hold up. Like i said y'all get a lot more of the horses. Perks of being bama.

Sidenote- Compare 1st round draft picks from the DL. lol

    Forgot about Cordy thanks diesel

I think they are about even on the 1st rounders

Lets just say that DJ Fluker and Chance Warmack both go in the first round this year which is probable, not certain but likely. That will put CNS at Andre Smith James Carpenter Chance Warmack and DJ Fluker
4 first rounders in 6 years with a very good chance of having Cyrus K drafted top 5 next year. Def a TON of OL talent to come through both schools. You would have one hell of an OL if you could have just taken the best from both schools the past 5 years.

  • Bama is out of punches for tunsil and still dont lead...We lead and have his official and in home left. When CMR gets in the house he closes. Mamma loves CMR. All Dawg unless we screw something up.

  • Nice article. Tunsil is going to make one of our schools (hopefully UGA) very happy. He is going to be massive tackle and will make some qb's happy!

If you havnt been back in the last 10 years then you wouldnt reconize it. Its getting really big and very congested. I grew up in Chelsea and the amount of homes in that area is unreal now. I think Shelby county at one time was the fastest growing county in the nation. Hwy 280 is a nightmare.

Agree with South, Bolden. You are a good poster and welcome to come back and discuss more often.

Out of curiosity, what were the general thoughts from the true Bama fans on the SECCG?

If you want the honest truth we have 100% respect for the dawgs and that game was a classic. I will say this, after watching the game we left a ton of points out on the field. Turnover inside the 10 blocked FG bad clock management at the end of the first half the game really shouldn't have been the nail biter it was but that's why they play the games. You never know what's going to happen. UGA should be playing Bama in Atlanta again next year.

With that said you have to give UGA all the credit for making the plays when they did. That's football especially in the SEC

Also, leaving points on the field would be missing a FG, not getting it blocked. The poor clock management by BAMA at half time was nothing compared to the clock management at the end of the game.

    GoDawgs5121044

  • I mean we can sit here and say UGA left points out on the field with a missed field goal and with that we kick a fg at the end and we win! I mean the fact of the matter is UGA went toe to toe with big bad bama and came 5 yds away from winning that game! I mean UGA didn't capitalize on a couple of drives that could of put away the game, so we can debate and state points were left out on the field for both teams! Bama won, and it was one hell of a game but let's not act like bama should have run away with the game!!
