We are 5 weeks away from college football. We are less than 5 away from High school football. My memories of football season are of that smell of fall. Growing up here in Southwest Georgia I remember the smell of fresh cut grass and the smell of fresh picked peanuts that were taken to the buying points to be dried. It would give off a smell like none other. The air would smell like peanuts as you went to the games in September. The sound of the band as you walked down the tunnel. We had a few fans that would greet the other team that was classic. As the other team walked down the sidewalk, we had a few fans that would yell down from the stands things like "You better not strap it om too tight!!! That helmet is coming off with your head in it or not!!!" I remember the woooo of the crowd when a big hit was laid, and the increased volume of the crowd as a player starts to be break a long one. I remember a rival game where our D made a 2 point conversion stop on a dump pass that was then stood up at the 1 yard line with less than 30 secs to go. We went on to win the game by 1 point in a game we were down by 2 TDs at the half. My biggest UGA memory was the hoot nail boot win over UT, but the Blackout, the Okie St win and the 2006 GT win are up there with the LSU 2005 SEC title win, and last years UF win. Anyone got some football memories.
