  • what's your feeling on Mike Davis? Our insiders think we have a good shot at him if we push for him (Rusty will tell you, JC and Tony-our 2 insiders don't throw bold predictions out there unless they have solid info). Seeing where he just visited you and your his last OV (jan 26?). Will you guys take 3 running backs (Marshall-congrats by the way, Gurley and Davis)? TIA

  • Highly doubt we take three unless something happens between now and then with Boo or Isiah. We have a good shot with him, and Gurley with Gurley scheduled to commit first so we just have to wait and see what happens.

  • Yep. I think he ends up with Clemson, and I don't mind that at all. The character issues coming out of Stephenson scare the crap out of me

  • I tend to think we either get Davis (he scares me a little with some of things we have heard) or we get none....I saw an interview with Guley yesterday and he seemed very matter of fact when they asked about UGA....

  • I agree he goes to Clemson or SC i still think we get Gurley with him and Marshall always in each other ear plus i want to keep Henry Davis might scare Henry off .

  • IMO, Gurley will end up at NC, especially w/ Fedora taking over - he is a top-notch recruiter, and has made TG a priority target. TG has always loved UNC, and would have already been a commit if UNC wasn't hit w/ scandal. IMO, TG has legitimate interest in UGA, but he will go w/ his heart - and, that is in Chapel Hill. I like how TG's, and MD's commitment timelines are laid out - if TG commits elsewhere, then UGA can put the full-court press on MD for the last month leading up to signing day. BMac has really elevated our RB recruiting to a whole new level.

    Gurley announces on Jan 3rd. That would be before Davis decides.

    If UNC gets Gurley, I think you guys may jump to the top for Mike Davis. I've read that for some reason Georgia doesn't recruit Davis' high school very well. What's the scoop with that?

    Great question...we've had some great players come from Stephenson, and current players on roster...coaches son came to UGA, but never made it on the field really...

    word is the coach is anti UGA, but another faction says UGA is anti Stephenson... I doubt either is the case and we've done pretty well there (signed Mike Thorton 2 years ago).

    Stephenson does a good job getting their kids football scholly's and there is just a perception UGA doesn't get enough of them

  • If Gurley does go with his heart and picks UNC, then you can bet that there will be a large push to get Davis. I don't see any reason to stop recruiting Davis even if we do get TG. Thomas is trying his best to emulate King/Ealey, see how many times that he can get suspended in order to be run outta town. I could def. see him wanting to transfer. IMO So that would open up another RB spot on the roster.
