Hot Notes( South Ga Prospects)

  • Speaking with Wayne Co coach Jody Grooms Monday night, he says UGA, GT and Rutgers have all been in contact recently with him about 2011 DT Tre Jackson. He feels that Rutgers and GT are both close to offering at this time. Georgia is still recruiting him, but I dont feel like he is going to get an offer at this time.

Spoke with 2011 OT Xzavier Ward of Colquitt Co today and he is not sure if he will visit UGA for an official.
I have said before that I think UGA is done with OL recruiting except for Brandon Shell.

  • Is Ward not coming because Georgia isn't interested? Do you think they would take him if he wanted to come?

Is Xzavier Ward not visiting UGA due to the fact that we have quit recruiting him or is there something else there. As this and many year's in the past show, we can never have too much "beef" on the team. Would we not make room for him if he wanted to come to UGA?

I think UGA is done at OT for this class. Naturally they would take Brandon Shell if he commits to UGA.
If there is a spot open in their numbers I could see UGA take Ward, but at this time I can't see it. Looks like Debell and Dantzler for this class with a heavy focus on Vadal Alexander and John Theus for 2012.

There is room and he is serious about UGA per his most recent interview...he sees immediate playing-time with the Dawgs if he was to commit.

  • From what I am being told from people I trust, he is heavy lean to stay instate with either Auburn or Bama,
however you never know when you can get a kid on campus for official what might happen.
