I take it all back... (UGA bball)

  • UGA does not have the worst offense in the country.... Northern Illinois does. They broke the record for fewest points ever scored in a half tonight. They only scored 4 points. Whose record did they break? Their own! They had a 5 point half earlier this year.

At one point they missed 32 straight 3 pointers tonight.

So sleep soundly UGA bball dawgs, you're not a very good offensive team, but hey at least you're not the worst.

Not quite. This is the fewest ever scored in a half *in the shot clock era*. Men's college basketball didn't add a shot clock until the 1985-1986 season.

I vaguely remember watching a game on TV as a child in which SCar trailed 4-2 at the half. I believe Mike Dunleavy (the father) played for the Gamecocks at the time. UNC during the '70s was famous for using the "four corners offense" to protect a lead, eating time while relying on Phil Ford to dribble, pass, shoot free throws when necessary.
