He quotes Todd Grantham's agent as saying there has been interest from colleges and NFL teams in his client, but Grantham wants to stay at Georgia and receive an extension.
In any event, Greg McGarity has been saying he not discussing such matters until after the season, Richt included.

I hope he gets a deal that mirrors any extension given to CMR. He has been an excellent addition and the defensive coaches have all stepped it up in the past two years. If he truly wants to only stay a coordinator, I hope we pay him what he is worth and keep him until he want to play golf or fish full time. I love his competitive nature and all that he has brought to our defense!

Double his salary!!!! You don't have to give more money to Riht, he will stay. Give more money to Grantham!

why even go there with an article right now after a big win over auburn? contract extensions mean nothing now.. get through this season first and then write article after article on it.

AJC stirring the pot as usual but i think everyone will return in the end i am sure few coaches will get phone calls which is typical this time of year .

This is the most interesting comment/question raised thus far. Many times, agents will plant stories like this in order to fuel speculation and assist with contract negotiations down the road. It's one of the many ways in which agents campaign for raises on behalf of their clients.
