    Can you explain the up votes and icons for me? I just began posting and I'm new to the site and would like to have a better understanding of it. I think this site is the best info on the web.

    If you like a post click on the green arrow to upvote. If not click on red arrow to downvote the post.

    A thread gets "rated" with 5 votes for the first post, making it show up green on board (thus standing out as a popular thread)

    Posters also get rated this way -- see the stars under username. You need at least 10 total upvotes to get a star rating.

  • To send a private message to one user, all you have to do is click on the envelope at the bottom of their avatar.

    If you are a member and you want to send a PM to more than one user, you can send the same message to up to 10 other users. After clicking New Message, just type their screen name (or start to type their screen name and you'll get a pulldown) and select the users you want to send it to.

    1) Is it standard for most folks to post and check it to where only Dawgs247 fans can see it, or is that something that's not used that much here?

    2) In the message space, is basic HTML allowed like bold, italics, etc? Or will it just show up as code?

    1) I'd guess it's maybe 70-30 VIP posts, and I could see it tilting more toward VIP as we grow, based on some of the network's larger sites. Some posters like using it, others not as much. Rusty and I will post premium a good bit, especially when it comes to recruiting info. I think you'll get a feel pretty quickly for it.

    It refreshes each day. In-house system runs on central time, so everyone should have just been replenished about 20 minutes ago.

    We can have disucssions and agree to disagree, but we're going to keep it above the junior high level some forums have slipped into.

    The fans have been policing themselves well, and we set the tone early when we launched our sites. Many flamers tested us and ended up leaving in a short amount of time.

    Thx again, everyone. And remember, Rusty and Gentry are almost always around to answer questions. You can also send us private messages you don't want to share with the group.

    You guys have done a great job at policing the site. I have yet to set the attacking negative post that I've run into on all the other sites. Thank you for all your efforts!

  • One question that has come up is regarding the UGA_ tags that are appearing on some usernames. What happens is that if someone who is already registered goes through the process, they’ll get a UGA_ before their username since duplicate aliases are not allowed in our system.

    But there is a quick fix.

    Just e-mail support@247sports.com and they can take care of it.
