Would love to see Denver grab him. As driven as he is, playing for the team Shannon Sharp played for would be even more motivation.

Me too. Think Detroit and SF would be a good fit too.
Wonder when Boykin will go. A lot of corners Have been taken.

Boykin is the real miss, in my opinion. He should have been taken by now.

Agree G. Must be from the injury because he was one of the top cover corners in football.

I don't know if he was one of the top cover corners in football.
But I think he was darned reliable in coverage.
And I think he offers some big play ability in all 3 facets of the game.
I thought he would be a great value pick early in the 3rd round.
The fact that he's still available doesn't baffle me as much as it makes me think "someone's going to get a steal of a deal" and everyone's going to ask 3 years from now "how did all of those teams miss on him?"

Indeed they're always screaming versatility now days. He can impact in all 3 phases of the game with limited roster numbers he should've went 3rd no later.

Film hurts everyone.
You can't hide anything.
Sometimes, GMs/Coaches just get a feel. And like Mel Kiper... they are wrong as often as you and I.

Boykin, as much as I love him, isnt gonna be locking down a whole side of the field in the NFL anytime soon. He could get a nickel spot but nickel guys usually go 3rd 4th. The guys who have gone ahead of him have those "intangibles" you always hear about (size speed ect) Brandon will get picked and do well. Orson on the other hand is a different story. He cant block. GREAT offensive skill set but teams are looking for more than that in a TE the draft first 2 rounds.

Cordy did fall a few spots into the second round, and I thought Boykin would be gone by now. Otherwise, I personally did not think Orson and Ben Jones would go in the top three rounds.
In this case, one has been battling weight issues, including his senior year at UGA. Another broke his leg at an awful time. Another got a DUI at an awful time.
But the truth is, this sort of thing happens every year, and a lot of times there isn't a reason. For instance, fans of every team I've ever covered responded this way on basically every draft. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that certain projections say one thing and others say differently, and fans of a team are naturally going to lean toward the positive ones because they think highly of their own players. Just my opinion.

In my case, you are exactly right. I based my draft selection picks essentially not so much on where I thought their talent might get them drafted, but rather at the highest draft round and number I'd hope they'd go based on the draft pool as a whole. Just the fan in me, I guess!

imo cincy is having a great draft and getting orson in the 4th is just a cheery on top for them..
