Starting a Bourbon collection to go along with my Scotch collection and I am looking for suggestions.
Here's what I have so far in my non mixer bourbon
Manhattan Baby Bourbon (technically not a bourbon, it was a gift)
Noahs Mill Small Batch
George T Stagg
Looking for some small batch suggestions
Really like Knob Creek, Hirsch and Jeffersons.
God needs a Safety on His team. RIP 21
It's not a small batch, but I really like Woodford Reserve.
I'm just starting to get into scotch. Any recommendations for something at a reasonable price?
Grangestone 12 yr. Total wine for $24 Inexpensive and pretty good single malt
Dalwhinnie 15 yr. Saw it for $50 @ Costco.
Coal Ila 12 yr. About $55, Islay Scotch. This is very similiar to Laphroaig and Lagavauln. Heavy peat.
Athens Townie is right on, grab any Pappy you can find. My girl bought me a bottle of the 20 year old for Christmas, she accidentally left the receipt in the pouch they provide - $157, and it's unbelievably smooth. The best bourbon I've ever tasted. I asked her to marry me less than a week later (true story, although have to admit it was already planned). It's impossible to find though and extremely price prohibitive in my case.
A few of my favorites:
Elmer T Lee Single Barrel - about $30 a bottle. One of the best imo, particularly at that price range
W.L. Weller 12 year old - about $25 a bottle. Great wheated bourbon at a nice price
Four Roses - I like most everything they do but if you can find a bottle of their 2012 Small Batch grab it. It's expensive, $70 a bottle, but it's worth it and would be a nice choice for your high end option. It's 110 proof so it'll knock you on your ass if you aren't careful.
you should give Rowan's Creek a run. It's mighty tasty!
Thx guys! Appreciate the suggestions. I'll continue the Van Winkle search, but in the mean time I'll try those that have been mentioned.
Top shelf- Booker's, Blanton's, and Jefferson's Reserve
Value- Ridgemont Reserve 1792 (this is my current favorite, love this stuff! If you like Knob Creek, you'll love this) and Buffalo Trace
"....All I ask is that he be loyal to Georgia, proud of that jersey, and try like the devil to win." --- Wally Butts
Blanton's hands down
These are 2 that I am sipping on right now. I have several more I will post tomorrow.
I agree weller and Elmer t lee hard to beat for the price. Pritchards, Parker's, Hirsch michters, I also agree the bookers bakers blantons, basil Hayden's all good. Next up for me is rock hill and whistle pig. Just my .02. Me likey bourbon....

I would love a report on Whistle Pig. It seems to be "trendy" right now, especially the rye. But at the price they're asking, I have a hard time trusting a whiskey that ain't made down here. Vermont is awful close to Canada.
