My biggest concern is Heyward. His bat looked very slow last season and pitchers ate him alive as a result.
The so-called "sophomore jinx" usually results from pitchrs learning a hitter's tendencies and strengths and then pitching to his weaknesses. Once the "book" is then written about him, a young hitter must adjust to the way he's pitched.
If Heyward can't make the adjustment he can't remain the starter in right field, where a team needs power.
Chipper's bat has slowed tremendously in the last two seasons, especially in the second half. Of course this is to be expected due to his age. I could easily see the Braves trading him if they aren't in contention by the trading deadline.
Anyone have any good Braves blogs that they follow throughout the season? During those slow summer months I like to follow baseball until football rolls around again in the fall. Any suggestions?
