Ole Miss/Georgia (don't VIP comments for OM board members)

  • Ole Miss fan here, just chiming in to see yalls thoughts on the game this weekend! I know our fanbase is excited and ready to head down to Athens. I hope it's a good one.

Now with that said I'm a realist. I don't think we will win. Always hopeful for an upset, but realistic non the less. What I hope to see is my team playing hard the whole game and hanging around to make it interesting. I just want to build off of this game and get better so we can beat Vandy next week and become bowl eligible! I know... Bowl eligible ha doesn't sound right

Anyways give me some feedback and try not to VIP so my fans can chime in
    Thanks and Hotty Toddy

  • If the defense plays the way it did vs the gators I don't see this being much of a game. I think we should be able to run the ball pretty successfully and keep y'alls offense off the field. However, I could definitely see us coming out flat and make this game into something it shouldn't be. With that said I think Ole Miss will stick around in the first half, but we will have our way in the second half with a little motivation at half time.

  • I respect Ole Miss, and hope our boys don't take them lightly. Enjoy your trip to Athens buddy. Go Dawgs!

Good post I don't necessarily see it getting to bad but if y'all jump out early at home it could get ugly.

I think the only way we will have a chance is if your boys come out flat after that big emotional win against UF and we come out guns blazing. I'll be bold and say it will either be a big win for you guys or a nail biter. no Inbetween
    IMO

  • I'm worried about this game. We are coming off an emotional, big win over a rival, and despite hearing the coaches and players saying all the right things about not having a let down, it happens all the time with college players. I'm curious to see if our defense can build off last week and keep that burr up their saddle. You're QB could give us fits. And I've been real impressed with how Freeze has gotten your team to play hard for 60 minutes. Even at the end of the Texas game, I saw Ole Miss players layin' wood. We will have to play well to win.

    welcome man,
honestly i hope this game is over by halftime, however, i will say i think you guys have a heck of a coach now. Coach Freeze will definitely get y'all moving in the right direction. I also must say i think y'all have an outstanding campus. but i still would like to blow this game out of the water. hope you enjoy athens!

I think / hope we stay motivated for this game because that attitude of just thinking because we're UGA we will win won't work, with that being said we have all the motivation we need now with the dome in our control. I think we will be a different team the rest of the season. Big win for the dawgs!

  • Ole Miss is having a great season- this game could be trouble. But in the end the run game and very tough defense slams the door...
    Dawgs 31, Rebels 21
    Go Dawgs!

  • Those Ole Miss boys can flat lay the wood. Hope we can avoid injury with this game. This is gonna be a fun game to watch, I expect a close physical game.

  • I see this game going one of two ways. It could be a carbon copy of the Tennessee game, high scoring nail biter. Or like the Vandy game. UGA jump out early and not look back. Ole miss has a great offense but defense has been exposed a few times. Should be fun to watch!

  • i can't wait for this game! it's going to be a good one. maybe we can stick around and make this a 4th quarter game ninja

I have a ton of respect for your coach and this game scares the crap out of me. Next year, with our defense rebuilding, I could see Ole Miss winning. This year, IF motivated, we should win.

I think your program is headed in the right direction and I will be pulling for y'all in the Egg Bowl.

Hopefully you can get to the Chik Fil A Bowl which would make for a great season end

Art Schlichter's cellmates and Mo Clarett's rugby team believe Ohio State always does things honestly.....

  • UGA has, in the past, looked past opponents. Look at the Kentucky game last year in Athens, to clinch the east. A scary 19-10 Dawgs victory.

BUT... after Saturday- this defense does not let up. Ole Miss simply does not have the D-line (no one over 300#) to shut down the run game or consistently pressure Murray.

Ole Miss will land some punches, but...this is the SEC...games are won/lost in the trenches and with defense. This will be the Dogs' day!

  • CBT------------this is the only game left on the schedule that scares me to death --The ultimate effort vs FL and facing a really good team the next week that we expect to beat --all kinds of red flags!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I will pray, pull, cheer for my Dawgs but worried!godawgs

  • CBT: thanks for posting, and welcome. though there is a clear talent deficit, i'm worried about this game. i'm very impressed with your team and how well they have stood up this year under freeze. if we come out flat or sleepwalking, this is a game we could easily lose.

rest assured, our fanbase respects the rebs a great deal and knows this is one we could lose if we don't play with focus and passion.

  • CBT: tell me a little bit about how the rebels are going to attack offensively

  • No offense to the OP, but this is a game where I believe we lay the wood. There just won't be enough fire power from Ole Miss. We win this game convincingly, 49-17.

Okay well we like to run different speeds first of all. we like to really push it when we get teams on their heels. And if the play works we ll keep running it until you adjust and then when you do we'll run a diff play out of that formation just when it becomes predictable.
Also our offense seems to be based on foward plays. Sounds simple but our goal is to gain 2,3,4 yards on first down. Takes away 3rd and longs and makes the game more manageable for our QB and when our offense runs it on first down we get into our tempo offense bc the clock doesn't stop.

Also we like to isolate Moncrief a lot on 1 side Not to really just throw the ball to him persay but to make you double team him opening up running lanes. The Moncrief kid is the real deal. Look for him on Saturday. He's one of the best receivers in the SEC maybe the nation, as far as physically and statistically. He's a beast of a blocker on the edge

    CBT10

  • IMO I think if we lay the wood like we did against bama and play great special teams. I think we have a great chance to win. I will say this if yalls defense plays like it did against Florida it gonna be a long day for the offence! #HOTTYTODDY

  • i think it depends on which UGA team shows up, the team that played Kentucky, Tennessee, south Carolina, or Florida. Yall have been anything but a model for consistency despite only having one loss. If the team that played Florida shows up we dont stand a chance, if the team that played TN showed up its a toss up, however i believe if the teams that played USCe or Kentucky show up then Athens is gonna be home to Upset Central. good luck to yall and hope its a good game between the hedges Hotty Toddy

If this game was at ur place, I think the rebels would stand a great chance at a victory. UGA has played its worst football on the road. This game being in Athens makes the difference.
