  • We have a tough stretch of SEC games (6 in a row before a bye week to face arkansas). I think 9 wins is realistic and if Lattimore is actually back to himself, 10-11 is very possible.

    Georgia
    LSU
    Florida
    UTjr
    bye week
    Arkansas

    tough stretch^^^

Love to hear other teams opinions.

  • I thin you win the rest but in that stretch I see you losing to LSU and Arkansas. I think UT with Bray and those recievers is a bad match up but I have to see their schedule before you to guess their state of mind. We caught them 4-1 with Bray last year.
I think you lose to either Florida or UT but u could win both.
UGa is a toss up. I think UGA is better but weird things happen at that place.
One thing that was clear under Ellis Johnson. Socar can stop the spread as long as Cam Newton isnt the QB. And they struggle against a pro style offense with a legit QB. Last year Arkansas and UGA were the only teams that fit that description and both hung big numbers up. This year LSU with Mettenburger can be added to that list.
But you do get most of the big games at home. You can get drilled by LSU and it wont atter in conference. You habe to beat UGA which jusdging my most of your fans is a given.

    SicEmDawgs

  • 7-5 most likely...8-4 at best....could be 6-6.

Lose to Ga, LSU, Fla and Ark.

Could split with Vandy, UT, Missouri and Clemson.

  • I see worst 7-5 with a best of 10-2, but I think you finish 9-3. Losses to GA, LSU, and FL. That stretch will be too tough to overcome. I think Vandy and Mizzo are upset potential games. Arky is going to take a huge step backwards. That won't be much of a game in my mind. Clemson is well...... Clemson.

    huie2115

  • 9-3 without an upset. All conference losses. If Lattimore is 100% to start the season, he'll probably be 90% or injured by the Georgia game. Maybe we'll have somebody ready to block Clowney by that time.

  • You'll be 5-0 going into the UGA game...

It'll be a matchup between two top ten teams and Gameday will be in Columbia.

The question is will the wheels fall off there? UGA, LSU, Clemson, UF, Ark are going to be very tough.

I agree that 9-3 sounds most realistic.

    Allhailuga

  • Arkansas will still have a ton of talent on offense and USC struggles against Arkansas. No way UF beats them. UF QB situation is on very shaky ground. There is a reason USC and UGA are both top 10 preseason teams and UF isn't ranked. LSU is a loss and Clemson game anything can happen. 10-2 with losses to LSU and Ark with UGA a toss up in Columbia.

    Doc Holladay

  • 9-10 wins.

USC is good to win one they shouldn't and lose one they shouldn't.

  • Why does everybody think FL is gonna beat So Car. FL isnt gonna be much better than they were this past year if any better. You have to remember they still dont have a QB or RB. The only threats they had on offense are gone now with Rainey and Demps. Without them they maybe scored 20 points all season. And for all the people who have to have absolute facts i am being sarcastic about the 20 points but i bet they didnt score much more than that.

Now on the other hand i also dont see So Car being as good either. Yeah they got Lattimore coming back and Shaw really showed some potential but the defense lost all the key players except for Clowney. The defense is why they were so good anyway. That being said i still think they have a decent season.

    Here's my take:

    Vanderbilt - W
    East Carolina - W
    UAB - W
Missouri - W (could go either way but its in SC)
    Kentucky - W
    Georgia - L
    LSU - L
    Florida - W
Tennessee - W (another that could go either way but in SC so you get the benefit of the doubt)
    BYE WEEK
    Arkansas - L
    Wofford - W
Clemson - L (another that could go either way but in Clemson so they get the benefit of the doubt)

I'll say 8-4 but could be 9-3. UGA, LSU, and Ark will just have to much in my opinion but just my opinion.

not true at all on the defense

we only lost M. Ingram, T. Robertson, A. Allen, S. Gilmore and CC Whitlock

We return 3-4 starters on defensive line, including Kelsey Quarles, Devin Taylor and Clowney

We return all of our linebackers except R. Paulk who was decent but not a starter

We return Akeem Auguste, a senior starting cornerback who had a foot injury last year who probably would of started over CC Whitlock

We also return Victor Hampton who is a better cover man than Gilmore. Last year was his first year in the rotation. Expect big things from him this year.

We return DJ Swearinger at safety.

Devonte Holloman (3 year starter I believe) will move from safety to spur

You guys didn't lose one of the best players in the SEC, Melvin Ingram?

  • 5-0 in the 1st 5 games
1-2 in the UGA, UF, LSU stretch (probably beat UF)
3-1 in the final 4 (either Clemson or Ark probably)

    9-3 overall

Ceiling is 11-1 (you aren't beating LSU in Baton Rouge)
Floor is 6-6 (if you mess up Missouri, go 0-3 in the middle, and lose to both Clem + Ark/Ten)

Yeah but those were the best players on your defense. Thats like us losing Jenkins, J. Jones Ogletree and Rambo. I think these guys are better than the ones yall lost but its still the equivelant. They were the playmakers on yalls defense. And you cant try to take anything away from Gilmore. He was a top 10 pick in the draft. Ingram, Allen, and Gilmore were the 3 best players on the defense. Plus you lost Jeffrey on offense so there goes the homerun threat on offense too. Besides Lattimore that is.

i think 10 wins is realistic but the Vandy game with Lattimore coming off the ACL and the 1st game without Ellis Johnson should scare you a little. I still think you win and Vandy is most likely going to realize in 2012 that having 5th year seniors on defense in a coach's 1st year in 2011 is an important thing. The game is at night in Nashville and Spurrier has lost two in a row to them early on in his SC tenure.

Art Schlichter's cellmates and Mo Clarett's rugby team believe Ohio State always does things honestly.....
