Zeier led our Offense to an overall Offensive Ranking of 7th overall Nationally including 1st in Passing in 1994. He had zero help defensively post 1992. In 2011, 5th Nationally. 10-4 is an improvement but still is 16-11 overall (11-10-1 with Zeier in the '93-'94 seasons with awful defenses).
Sonny, I love your insight but we just philosophically look at things different. We will agree to disagree.

Zeier was also coached by Goff. And had Terrell Davis on the team with him.

Maybe the better question would be; Would Eric Zier have been a better QB under Richt/Bobo than Aaron Murray would be under Ray Goff?

I think if he did then he would be the best QB on the team. So yes. Just don't think he is going to be a high draft pick which could cause him to at least consider it. See Kellen moore for example.

I see the Kellen Moore relation height wise. While Moore was more accurate and a better game manager, I feel like Murray's athleticism will get him into a higher round. I'm not saying he will be the number one pick, but I see him leaving in the second round. He will be one of those QB's that is featured on the Gruden QB camp show

AM has a lot to prove this year. Needs to step up in a big game, Protect the ball better, and become more accurate with the deep ball. But i guess only time will tell

yeah, i mean...it all depends on what teams are looking for a QB when the draft rolls around. But i see him jumping easily. He has finished his degree, and will probably be done with his graduate degree soon

I could see Murray jumping to #2 by the end of his time.

What did Stafford do to be in front of Shockley (a sec champ winner) and Aaron (who has already been in one)? Stafford had AJ Green, MoMass, and Moreno and still couldn't get us to an SEC champ game. Stafford maybe the most TALENTED QB to ever step foot in Athens but he was not the best leader or QB while at Athens.
I go with Aaron. Aaron is just now going into his junior year and is already being recognized as a dark horse for the Heisman. When Aaron leaves UGA hopefully he will have one maybe 2 SEC champ. on his record and will leave stat wise as the best ever at UGA. The numbers he has put up against the best defensive conf. in the country are incredible as only a frosh and soph so far.

Not every team is dominant defensively... that said, I do think the conference reputation is much higher today than it was back in the early 90's.
Murray definitely has some work to do. But a conference championship game as a sophomore is ahead of schedule by most marks. 2012 and 2013 will be fun.
