Rumor-Stanford to SEC

  • Stanford to the SEC. Why not? They play Big Boy Football, not flag like the rest of the pac-12. Please shut up Brent with the notre dame and alabama talk.

    They have a GREAT athletics Dept as a whole.

    And rumor has it, their academics aren't to shabby either.

  • Good job on starting that rumor. Stanford is not leaving the PAC-12 to play in the SEC. That is a smoke dream. 2 things - distance and academics. Anyone thinking this is going to happen is just wishing. It would be like saying UGA is going to join the PAC-12.

  • Also - the reason there is all the Alabama and Notre Dame talk - we have not delivered in a while. We need to deliver the next 2 Saturday's. Then they will talk about UGA more often. But we don't need to get ahead of our selves. We need to beat Tech. Then worry about Alabama. Alabama will be a handful and we will need to step up our game for that. We did it for a half against LSU so we need to see if we can do it for an entire game against Bama. We need our OL and DL to be prepared for the game of the year when we play Bama but that won't matter if we don't handle Tech.

    If we beat Bama then I would not be worried near as much about anyone else. I was concerned about Oregon but the physical game they could not handle - so if we had them we would need to have a physical game and take it to them just like Stanford.

    Oh I agree with you Azz, to say it would be a long shot wouldn't even be sufficient enough of a description.

    I was just saying that if it did happen (which it won't), they would bring a lot to the conference

    However, there is ONE school that would NEVERRRRRRR allow that happen: Vandy.

    Being No. 1 academically in the SEC is something Vandy has hung its hats on for 80 years

  • Would love to get rid of Kentucky and add Louisville but that's just me. Louisville is obviously the better football team and the drop-off wouldn't be that significant from a basketball standpoint . Does Kentucky hoops have more cache than Louisville hoops and football combined? Maybe. Maybe not. But how long will Cal keep it going at the level he has it?
