  • I flipped back and forth to throughout the game. What I saw was a pretty good first half effort from an outmanned and unconfident team. As we all know, we have a serious lack of size inside, but we gave their big guys a relatively hard time in the first half. Towards the end of the half and all of the 2nd half, their shots began to fall, which led to their full court pressure, which we didn't handle very well.

The thing that bothered me the most was seeing how many of our players received the ball on offense in a position to score (or at least attempt to), only to give it up as quickly as possible to the next closest teammate, like a hot potato. KCP is really the only player who actually looks for a way to attack the defense. The rest will only shoot if they are wide open or the clock is running down. We really need someone else to set up offensively. I see this as more of a mindset issue than a talent issue. They just don't seem to look for scoring opportunities, but rather just pass it around the perimeter until someone has to force a shot to beat the clock. The ball rarely goes inside. On the few occasions it does, the result is either an immediate kickout or a 10-12 ft jumphook.

The one time I saw Mann (I think, not sure) drive to the basket and dish it, he made a great pass that hit Florveus in the chest and went out of bounds. Flourveus was standing in the middle of the lane, 3 feet in front of the basket, and never saw it coming.

Don't get me wrong, I am not bashing Fox. In fact, I really like him. But, this team needs suffers from a lack of confidence more than anything...everyone looks to be waiting for someone else to take the shot...just my humble opinion.

  • "liking" Fox is completely unjustified.

saying Fox is a "good x's and o's coach" is completely unjustified.

two years in a row we've been pathetic on the court and next year looks to be worse when we lose our best player to the draft (laughable that we're this bad and we actually have an nba player on the team.)

every year we give to fox is another year that we do jack squat in basketball. we will never be competitive in the SEC with fox's recruiting and coaching. thompkins was a gift to him from felton. without that gift, fox would already have been fired.

I have met him and like him as a person but I agree with you

It's about recruiting, coaching, teaching and in-game adjustments

He gets an "F" on all 4 in my book

The spin coming out of Athens makes it sound like he gets another year.

I don't get that. If we go 4-14 in the SEC and barely win 10 games overall in year 4, that gets any other major college coach fired. We have nothing to look forward to next year.

I just looked at the remaining schedule and it will take a miracle to get 4 SEC wins.

    We need a change

Art Schlichter's cellmates and Mo Clarett's rugby team believe Ohio State always does things honestly.....

    true. good corrective.

'liking' him in terms of being uga's basketball coach is how it should be narrowed.

no doubt he's a nice guy.
