Please forgive me if I'm talking out of turn (being a newb to the site), or if someone else has posted something similar - in regard to people taking content for 247 and reposting it somewhere else (like a competitor site). Sounds to me like it may be fairly easy to catch this person(s). There should be a login record (log) for everytime we (the user community) log into the site. The site admins should be able to get these records for Rusty/Gentry pretty easily. There are also probably click records for every link associated with the site (including the Junkyard forum). When you analyse both records, you should be able to tell which account accesses which content - with a date and time stamp. Now, aggregate enough of these thefts and I'd bet anything a pattern emerges. That is, a small number of customer accounts (or IP addresses, if they are using multiple accounts) witllcorrelate to content that winds up at the other (competitor) sites. So, in practice - once notified (or discovered) that content has been reposted to "the bad guy" site, note the date/time stamp, go back and look at every account who has logged in here between the original post and the unauthorized post - keep these records for each repost and compare against all content stealing events. There will be a pattern... just have to keep after it.
Also, the 247 techies may want to look at DRM (digital right management) and find a way to apply it's copyright infringement capabilities to content delivery sites such as this one.
Hope this helps - love the site!
