MACON, Ga. -- Former UGA DB Chris Sanders is working at Georgia Military in hopes of being able to rejoin the Bulldogs. And remember Mario Alford? What's the latest there?

Hey G, considering what happened would UGA actually accept him back even if he is doing the right thing?
from what I understand, he wasn't as involved as the other culprits. He may have also said all the right things when confronted. I'm pulling for the young man to keep working hard and hopefully earning his way back.
Was there ever a definitive position that UGA was recruiting Alford at?
I love slot guys and would love to see UGA have more success there.
But I remember talk about him possibly playing defense.
I'm assuming he is not getting work over on the defensive side of the ball?
I also believe that people deserve second chances. I would love to see him back as well as long as he does handle his business. I believe the team would be comfortable with him coming back if he proves that he is doing the right things.
I think I'm alone but I see a significant difference in a poor choice and poor character. Pretending to be part of a team and stealing from your team mates behind their back isn't a mistake. It's a lack of character. I'm not really sure exactly what went down so I can't say definatively that he shouldn't be allow back on the team but a distinction should be made.
I believe in giving people multiple chances to fix their mistakes and poor judgements but I could really care less how regretful someone is about the consequences of poor character or what they're willing to do to fix things. I think that right solution is for Richt to look at all the facts surrounding the incident and decide which this was: a mistake or a lack of character, JMHO.
You earn your pardons. A permanent change in character and keeping your hand on the plow...
There is a reason why Seay isnt talked about as having a chance to return and Sanders is...
Its that line between misstake and bad character.
What Sanders did and what Seay did was not equal.
Last I heard, Sanders knew of the theft and didn't tell the proper people.
Jess Y, you are correct, there is a difference between character and a poor decision. Character is what you are all the time and a poor decision is, hopefully something you do only every once in a while. As you stated, we don't know what Sanders did, or his extent of involvement. It is easy to get swayed by friends to make a stupid choice every once in a while, especially at that age, but then, you have to learn to cut those relationships and move on. This is a HUGE learning opportunity for him and I hope he does the things to improve himself and sharpen his decision making skills. I presume, that this is not a character flaw with him, otherwise, I don't think CR would even give the option of a possible return. I do hope he does well and gets the opportunity to play for the red and black.
If Richt and staff think he has earned a chance to come back, imo, the final decision should be left up to the team. Have a players only meeting and put it to an anonymous vote. If they vote to take him back, great. If not, best of luck to him in his future en devours. That's how I would handle it, at least.

Wouldnt Chris Sanders be part of the 2013 recruiting class? Is our coaching staff thinking about that when recruiting DB's? Or are they not even thinking about Chris Sanders yet. If we knew Chris Sanders was returning would we still take a Letman?
If he did get taken back by UGA he would possibly be the most ready DB from the 2013 class. I have always really liked Chris Sanders. I had him pegged as a starter in 2013 before he got kicked off the team. Word was he was one of the better looking incoming freshman in 2011. He was injured early, and we really never got to see what he could do though.
When will Chris Sanders or even Nick Marshall be ranked with other Juco players? I would imagine he would be a four star player. Possibly a ranking similar to Steven Nelson?
